Ivan
I should've yelled or said something, but I sat there quietly, staring at each.
They're not the first to ask for my children; I doubt they'll be the last. However, this is the first time I'm not getting angry. The feeling is beyond that because there's something hidden beneath the offer. It's all or nothing, and what's not said is more important than what is. I have no choice.
The sins had already made a deal with Jushion before meeting with me. They'd already intended to give him the advantage and fuck me over. If I hadn't come with the baby, they would've buttered me up and pretended all of this was fair to give me a false sense of security, but that's not the truth. All the odds were stacked against me because they'd allowed all of my enemies to dictate how this would go. I wasn't meant to win.
Except I had come with the kid, and now they had to backtrack and see if the offer they could make me would be better.
