I didn't call Nefra's phone. There was no chance I'd give them her private number, but mine was public. It would still open up a line of communication, but it would be safer than going through Nefra. I didn't trust Jasper to keep things private or anyone else, so I wasn't risking them handing that information to Melissa or Jushion. Whatever else was going on, I wasn't putting that level of stress on my pregnant mate.

They were all watching me, reminding me that I was, in fact, a prisoner and not a guest.

Not wanting to make this call around them, I moved to the other side of the conference room. Soldiers were everywhere, so it was challenging, but I found a corner and pressed call. There was no dial tone, so I wasn't sure how the call would connect. However, after I counted to fifty, I heard a click and then the sound of my own bored voice. It was my voicemail.
