"Please come in." Tony opens the doors to the house and steps aside. "Here, I'll take that for you."
"Thank you." My mom smiles at him, holding me tight in her arms. "Come on, Neffy."
"Ivan?" I look around for the boy, but I'm disappointed to find he's not here.
The second I saw him, I knew he was my mate. I didn't understand what that meant for my future at two, but I knew what the feeling meant. He was instantly my best friend, the part of my soul I'd been missing, and I was the same for him. We were supposed to be together, but I hadn't seen him since my mom put me in the rental, and his uncle forced him into the back of another car. So, where was Ivan?
"He'll be here later, sweetheart." Tony gives me a forced smile, but I bury my face into my mother's shoulder and huff in frustration. "He... had to go home first."
