On the day of Izzy's eighteenth birthday, her foster parents made her a cake and she politely informed them she would be moving in with friends and thanked them for taking care of her all this time. They didn't seem terribly surprised by her announcement and wished her well, telling her to call them if she ever needed advice on anything. And that was the end of that.
She went to dinner with her friends at one of their favorite restaurants before she and Roz lugged their suitcases up to Julian's apartment. He was letting them share the bed and he would be sleeping on the couch for the foreseeable future. When they got a bigger place, they would get bunkbeds and he would have his bed back.
He was surprisingly nice about it. He didn't have a single complaint the entire time they were all squished together in the rather small space, though she did notice he occasionally rubbed the back of his neck like it was stiff from sleeping on the couch.
