Julian was a creature of habit. Having Izzy force her way into his daily routine had been stressful in the beginning but now that she had become a part of his routine and was gone, he was stressed again.
Every so often, he found himself looking up at the chair she used to occupy while reading novels with a variety of expressions on her face and felt a distinct sense of loss. This wasn't right. She was supposed to be here.
He thought that if he had gotten used to having her there, he could get used to not having her there as well but months passed and he still hadn't. His life, which already wasn't that exciting to begin with, became even more dull and gray.
Julian was fairly certain he knew what it was too. She offered positive unpredictability. She kept things interesting but also was the only source of kindness in his life.
