Another Test

Nuclear Power is obtained through a process called nuclear fission.

This process was achieved when an atom split into two through special means, thereby producing powerful energy.

Zen had been having second thoughts due to the fact that splitting atoms wasn't as simple as cutting it with a sharp knife.

It required a special method that uses special materials and technology.

However, a certain variable made this possible- the incomprehensible and omnipotent energy known as mana.

HUMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!

The humming sound became more deafening as time passed.

Zen felt excited as he observed the light emitted by the splitting of atoms, 'I can't believe it really worked! I wonder if Teacher was impre–'

He couldn't finish his thoughts as he saw the shock in Arthur's eyes.

Just as he was about to gloat, Arthur spoke with a serious expression, "My dear student, can you stop this?"

"Ehhhh? What, Teacher? Of course, I can't…" Zen scratched his head.

Hearing him, Arthur sighed, "Well, I'm at fault because I was the one who ordered you to cast any magic of your choice…"

"But next time, make sure to be careful when casting magic."

"Okay…"

Zen responded with a guilty expression.

Indeed, he was fully aware of the dangers of trying to manifest nuclear power in the form of magic.

It was just that he became overwhelmed with excitement at the thought of making the impossible possible.

However, his teacher's next action caused him to become shocked.

Arthur waved his hand, "Contain."

Just like that, the brightening light and the deafening hum instantly halted. A blue mana box encased it in the next moment.

Arthur then picked up the mana box that contained Zen's magic inside and stored it into his storage space.

"Let me keep this as a remembrance of you carelessly casting your first magic."

Zen couldn't refute as he knew that he was in the wrong this time, "I'm sorry… but how about my reward, Teacher?"

Hearing his words, Arthur became speechless.

It took him a second to recover before he spoke, "Well, I'll still have to ponder whether your magic is impressive or not…"

"What!?" Zen exclaimed, "But why? I saw the shock on you face earlie-"

"Did you also see the fact that you almost destroyed my place?" Arthur snapped back at him.

"Why did you have to go there? Can we just let the past remain in the past? Let's move on…"

Seeing him scratch his head and utter those words, Arthur was speechless once again.

'Didn't happen literally a few seconds ago? What do you mean let the past remain in the past…?'

He then shook his head and said, "How about this. If you manage to comprehend the magic I casted earlier, I'll add another reward."

"Until when do I have?" Zen asked warily, afraid of another on the spot test.

He really felt traumatized from earlier since it gave him the feeling of whenever his teachers gave him a surprise examination.

That's right, not a quiz but an examination.

Arthur smirked and said, "Don't worry, I don't have enough time for another test. So I'll just check when I get back."

"Ehhh?" A curious expression appeared on Zen's face as he asked, "For how long will you be gone, Teacher?"

"Well, I don't know for sure. Maybe a couple days to a week at most…"

"Can I ask what the "errands" your saying are about?" Zen tried to probe for more information.

However, his teacher only shook his head, "It is nothing serious. Just be sure to be ready the next time we meet."

Arthur then prepared to leave as he placed his wooden longsword onto the weapon rack.

"Teacher!" Zen called out.

His teacher looked back, "What is it?"

"Ummm, do you have any clues or hints for me about your magic earlier?"

To be honest, Zen really didn't know what his teacher did earlier in order to stop the inevitable explosion of his magic.

All he saw was the fact that the splitting of atoms suddenly stopped.

"Well, I guess it's a little too advanced for you…" Arthur laughed and said, "I'll just tell you two hints…"

Zen's ears perked up as he carefully listened to his teacher's next words.

"...that magic delved into the field of time and space. Anyways, I'll be going now. If you're not able to comprehend my magic, I might take back your rewards"

"What!?" Zen wanted to protest.

However, Arthur's figure had long disappeared from the training grounds.

"Shit. What does he mean to take back my rewards? So unfair…" Zen frowned in dissatisfaction.

"He really wants me to comprehend a magic with time and space elements after seeing it once? Just what does he think of me!?"

He not only felt dissatisfied, but also felt challenged, "Fine, I'll show you what I can do!"

"But wait…" Zen felt that he seemed to have forgotten something.

Such occasions only happened rarer than eclipses since he had photographic memory.

The only cases in which it could happen was when he was distracted, not because he forgot that specific thing.

Thus, this feeling really bugged him.

Nevertheless, he wasn't able to think of the thing that he seemed to have forgotten.

"Well, I'll just focus on what I have at hand."

Meanwhile, on Sera's end…

"You've been gone for quite a while, is everything good in your homeworld?"

"Yes, Master. There have been some slight problems but everything is fine."

"I'm glad to hear that. By the way, why did you look for me?"

"Well, about that… Master, I think I have found a way to remedy the repercussions of [Sun Sword Art]."

"Oh, really?" Although Helena's eyes were covered by a black blindfold, Sera surmised that her master seemed to have widened her eyes in shock.

"Tell me. What have you found?" Interest was very obvious in her voice.

Sera smiled in response, "I think the solution to our problems lay in the [Moon Shield Art] of the Luna Familia."

Helena's lips parted in surprise as she heard her disciple's words.
