Capítulo 114: Chapter 114: Christmas Gift from Lucius

While this was going on, the atmosphere at Malfoy Manor in Wiltshire, England, was tense.

All the house elves in the mansion were very careful and looked in horror at the door to their master's drawing room and dared not make a sound, fearing it would disturb their master.

The study was a large circular room with a luxurious interior.

In it, there was luxurious furniture, dark green and silvery white. It was beautifully arranged around a beautiful marble mantelpiece adorned with a gilded mirror that had an intricately scrolled frame at the top.

Right on the ceiling were two beautiful crystal chandeliers, the floor tiles were covered with gorgeous rugs, and a huge bookshelf that surrounded half of the study was filled with magical books that were out of print, next to which were a dozen portraits hung next to them.

All of them were the former patriarchs of the Malfoy family.

Beneath the portraits, Lucius Malfoy was staring gloomily at the fire in the fireplace, and the expression on his face showed that he was in a very bad mood.

He had just received a letter, and the contents of the letter were very simple. The elders of the Committee for the Elimination of Dangerous Creatures said that they were returning all the Galleons he had sent before, which meant that they refused to support his official demand to kill the Hippogriff.

It was unbelievable that they rejected the Malfoy family's demand!

Such a thing used to be unthinkable in the past.

Lucius had originally thought that the politicians at the Ministry of Magic had always been under his own control, and relying on the prestige and financial clout of the Malfoy family, he could do whatever he wanted.

Even when the Dark Lord failed 12 years ago, the power of the Malfoy family was not affected at all.

But now, had they rejected him?

Lucius had a bitter smile on his face, he wanted to do something, but found himself unable to do anything.

In recent years, the reputation of the Malfoy family was not as good as it used to be. And now, their influence was so weak that they couldn't even get a hippogriff killed.

"Bloody hell, it's that bloody Dumbledore and that filthy dirty-blood!" said Lucius angrily.

In his opinion, this was all planned by Dumbledore.

Pureblood families were having a hard time and their condition had deteriorated. On the contrary, the dirty-blooded Muggles were occupying more and more high positions.

Lucius felt sudden nostalgia for the days when the Dark Lord was still around, and although he himself did not feel much affection for Voldemort, the latter's ideas were what the pureblood families really needed. They were the noblest, and those damned dirtybloods and Muggles should naturally be enslaved by them.

Lucius took a deep breath, he knew he had to keep calm, even though he thought so, he couldn't reveal those dangerous ideas.

Judging by the current situation, this was not in his best interest at all.

The Malfoy family was able to survive for thousands of years, not from short-term power, but from unparalleled wisdom.

But he could do nothing, while waiting for his complaint to be rejected.

Since the beginning of this year, after being expelled from the board of trustees of Hogwarts School of Magic, the Malfoy family was faceless; if this time he was defeated by the rude Hagrid and two dirty bloods, the Malfoy family would truly become a laughing stock.

If they can't reflect their own nobility and power status, what's the difference between pure-blooded wizards and despicable dirty-bloods?!

If a few silly dirty-bloods could bring down the face of the Malfoy family, then the Malfoy name would soon be as worthless as the traitorous pure-blood Weasley's!

No, no, I can't let this happen! What should I do?

It may be possible to use some occult power or more Galleons.

Just as Lucius Malfoy was considering the next move, a beautiful long-eared black owl suddenly flew from the window and interrupted his thought.

"Bloody hell!" Lucius shouted in disgust.

Did all the lazy elves in the manor die? How did the owl fly directly into his living room?

Or did they all want to leave the Malfoy family like that traitor Dobby?

As soon as he remembered Dobby, Lucius' anger grew at the thought of the hateful creature, the same one who dared to betray him and his family.

Because of that incident, his friends mocked him for a whole year.

Lucius pulled out his wand and was ready to make the reckless owl pay the bloody price.

Suddenly, however, he stopped.

He saw a mark on this owl that meant it came from Hogwarts.

Lucius was a bit curious, who would write to him?!

It definitely wasn't Draco, as he had other channels to contact him.

Nor could it be Severus, whom Lucius had never seen use an owl.

Besides these two, Lucius couldn't think of anyone at Hogwarts who would be in contact with him at the moment. And he didn't know what would be in the letter.

He walked past, picked up the letter paper at the owl's foot and unfolded it, the handwriting was ugly and sloppy and the words were very rude.

On the paper was written, "To Lucius Malfoy, my dear old friend, I am going to give you a great present at Hogwarts for the approach of Christmas, and I hope you will be pleased and I beg you to help me..."

Lucius frowned, and he couldn't remember when he had an old friend at Hogwarts.

And what kind of present would he prepare for him?

He read on, and a few seconds later, his brow stretched.

Hogwarts' Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor Remus Lupin is actually a werewolf?!

Staring at the dirty paper in his hand, Lucius' mouth suddenly showed a cold, satisfied smile.

That was really an unexpected Christmas present, and if what was written in the letter was true, it was great news.

But this was not enough. If the fact that a tame werewolf had become a teacher was the only thing on the front page of 'The Prophet' newspaper, that couldn't shake Dumbledore's reputation.

As the greatest white wizard recognized by the wizarding world in modern times, Dumbledore's status and power are beyond imagination.

He is more than the headmaster of a wizarding school. For example, last year, the Basilisk attacked students at Hogwarts Castle. After so many attacks, Lucius managed to persuade other headmasters to agree to remove Dumbledore.

Of course, a werewolf is no match for a Basilisk; you should also add some oil to the fire. That's the only way he can burn Dumbledore.

But the most important thing is to personally write to the person who sent him this letter and see what he will do.

If both of these things succeed, then he had enough odds to get Dumbledore out of Hogwarts.

Nothing is impossible if he prepares well. Even Dumbledore's reputation could crumble.

After all, unlike the Chamber of Secrets incident, this one was caused entirely by Dumbledore. Compared to that, what's the pain of that stupid Hagrid and the death of his stupid Hippogriff? Lucius' thoughts now revolved entirely around the contents of this letter.

Although he didn't know who the sender was, it didn't matter.

All that mattered was the information it gave and what it was willing to do That was the most important thing!

As for the sender's request, he could fulfill it with the flick of a finger, he just needed to pay attention in time.

Lucius glanced at the wall clock, ten minutes to two in the afternoon.

Although he was in a hurry, he still had time to reflect for a moment and make up his mind quietly.

After all, despite the importance of this matter, it was not in line with Malfoy family values to reveal oneself. He should remain hidden behind the scenes to fan the flames and let the others charge forward.

"Bobby!" he shouted.

In the blink of an eye, a weak house elf appeared in the room.

"I'm here, Master," Bobby said in a high-pitched voice, looking at Lucius Malfoy with horror, fearing he was ready to punish him.

"Go get my robe ready, hurry, I'm going to see the Minister of Magic." Lucius paused and continued, "And prepare the galleons, the more the better. Also prepare many galleons, the appetites of my old and greedy friends are not small."

He hurried to his desk. Before meeting with Fudge, Lucius was ready to write several letters to old friends who hadn't seen him in a long time. At the same time, he also wanted to tell the news to other pureblood families who were ready to see Dumbledore's collapse.
