Soon after Jack and the mutants had left the Avengers, the other members had found out about what happened. And it caused absolute chaos because Jack had leaked the entire meeting to the rest of the Avengers.
When they found out that Tony had been spying on Jack, most of the Avengers, part-time, full-time, close to Jack, and even those who were not close to Jack feared for themselves.
They each had secret identities they wanted to protect or family they wanted to keep safe. They had joined the Avengers in order to ensure that happened.
But when they found out that one of the founding members of the Avengers had been spying on another member just because of a bad feeling he had, it completely ruined all the trust that these people had in the Avengers.
Within an hour of Jack leaving, 40% of the current Avengers' roster left. No one wanted to be on a team where they had to worry about their teammates as much as their enemies. But that wasn't all.
There was not only the fact that Tony had been spying on Jack but he had also been plotting against the man. Tony had hidden several heroes and SHIELD personnel around the meeting room that were ready to ambush Jack with an order.
The few who barely tolerated Tony's action of spying felt even more disgusted and untrusting of their teammates. And they also didn't trust Steve since he had allowed it all to happen.
'If anyone had someone they don't trust, it seems they are allowed to do whatever they want as long as they don't physically attack the other party,' was the sentiment that most of the heroes felt.
The number of heroes that had been reduced to 60% of the original numbers was further reduced down to 30% of the initial numbers for the day.
The last wave of people to leave the Avengers was also the group that was planning to leave first but didn't want to abandon their comrades. These were the ones that were actually close to Jack.
When they saw how dirty Tony and Steve treated Jack, their faith in the Avengers disappeared and they wanted to quit. Most planned on staying in the Avengers before leaving for various reasons over the next few months. But with all the members leaving, these former Avengers no longer felt as bad as just leaving.
3 of the 'biggest' to leave were Janet and Clea as they were two squad leaders as well as Susan Storm. Each of them left without real plans of where to go due to having falling outs with their spouses due to their husbands taking Tony's side.
In the end, the entire thing turned into a shit show. The Avengers that was a proud group of heroes that was there to stand up for the weak was broken apart due to one man's ego and another being unwilling to pick a side.
The Avengers that numbered over 100 at the beginning of the day was reduced to around 20 members by the end of it.
After getting a lecture from Steve and feeling all the eyes on him throughout the day, Tony finally broke under all of their gazes before he returned to Stark Towers and drank his misery away.
After a few hours of drinking, Tony felt as if the weight was lifted off his shoulders and he took to the air.
'I need to head to Vegas. I could probably buy the casino that takes all my money if worse comes to worst,' Tony drunkenly thought as he made his way west
After he crossed 3 states, Tony felt a large pressure approaching him before his entire body was covered by something and sent tumbling towards the ground.
Luckily for Tony, the force behind the blow was actually quite weak compared to its size so Tony was able to stabilize himself before he crashed into the ground.
Tony turned around and saw a giant that was over 400 feet tall looking down on Tony. The figure had black ice covering their head so it was impossible to tell who it was that attacked him but it was obvious that they were not friendly.
"Fine! You wanna *burp* pick a fight with me? Then let's fucking go!" Tony said in a drunken slur
Jack looked at Tony's small body and laughed as he thought about how much trouble the man was in.
Tony began flying around Jack's giant figure while firing repulsor blasts and missiles at him but was unable to deal any serious damage. Jack's already strong figure got even stronger with his increase in size.
'Back up might be arriving soon. I guess I better finish this off soon,' Jack thought to himself before pointing his open palm toward Tony. Jack used his [Pocket Theft] ability to steal Tony's armor from around his body.
No longer having his armor, Tony began to fall out of the sky. Luckily for him, he was only 20 feet in the air so although the fall had given him some severe injuries, Tony would live.
Jack looked down on Tony's physically broken body and wanted to take it to the next step. He wanted to break the man mentally.
Using his telepathy, Jack began going through Tony's weak, drunken mind and started doing his work. The first thing he did was destroy Tony's mental fortitude.
Tony's role as the founder of the Illuminati, Tony's position as a hero, Tony's intelligence. Everything that Tony was confident about, Jack broke it. But he was not done.
He used his telepathy to literally carve up Tony's mental shield. Pass by pass. turn by turn. Like a surgeon with a blade, Jack cut through Tony's mind in such a precise way that others may have accidentally killed the man by doing so.
When Jack was done, Tony was far more susceptible to even the most beginner of street hypnotists and had the willpower of a snail. Along with his broken body, Tony might never truly recover to becoming a hero once again under normal circumstances.
But Jack knew his limits. After going through Tony's memories, he knew about all the members of the Illuminati which included Professor Xavier.
And Professor Xavier would be able to repair the damage that Jack had done to him, even if it took time.
Jack didn't want to completely break Tony. Not yet. He wanted to make the man suffer for ruining his plans and position in the Avengers just because of envy and pride.
After he was done with Tony's mind, Jack activated the emergency distress signal in Tony's suit before flying away. His mission was done.
