(For those that were struggling with the riddle, here is a hint. The 'carpenter's stepfather' is talking about the stepfather of Jesus. Another hint about the riddle is in this chapter.)
By the time Jack and the other Avengers returned to the tower, it was already 11 in the morning.
"You guys go ahead and get some rest. We will have the briefing over the mission tomorrow morning at 10 but after that, you guys pretty much have free time until I find another suitable mission for us."
The women let out a small cheer when they heard they could sleep. They had been up all night and wanted to get some rest. Each of them gave Jack a quick goodbye before they went out of sight.
Steve and Natasha both gave Jack a few words of congratulations before each of them had to leave. Natasha was going undercover with some other Avengers while Steve was responding to a distress call.
When Jack got back to his room, he saw that he was all alone for the first time in forever. Valeria hadn't snuck in while all the Avengers' pets were off somewhere else.
'Peace and quiet. Been a while since I had this.'
Jack went to his office to get the custom laptop he built and programmed himself before inserting one of the two data sticks he had made of the information he secured.
After plugging it in, Jack began to carefully shift through all of the information on it. It took Jack 3 hours before he finished editing the data.
'I'll send it up to Cap later.'
Jack then grabbed the second stick and put it in one of his pockets. He would deliver this one to Emma for safekeeping. Although his new power [Cyber Mind] allowed him to memorize all of the information when he saw it the first time going through the data, he made sure to keep the second one in case anything happened to him.
After settling all the stuff with the data, Jack went towards his window before jumping out of it and taking flight. Jack then began to fly across the city until he reached the penthouse Emma had first rented out for him when he became a hero.
Even though he stayed at Avengers Tower, Emma made sure to continue paying for it in case Jack had any other needs for it. And he would definitely that day.
After closing all the blinds, disabling the security cameras, and securing the place with a few demonic and dark magic spells, Jack finally felt he could act without worry.
'Time to use [Bilocation]. This will save me over 20 years on my initial schedule.'
Jack activated the skill and 2 digital screens appeared in front of his face. Both of these were characters creation screens that seemed like they were a mixture of Code Vein, Nioh, and Cyberpunk 2077.
'These are actually pretty cool. I can even make myself a pseudo-elf or other beings. Although I don't gain their unique powers, still looking like them is pretty cool.'
Jack decided to make one of his avatars a dark-elf named Qilip while the other was a human called Troy. Both of them were given very different appearances from Jack so they would be able to act freely without affecting him. He especially made sure to change their faces enough that people would never think they looked alike.
Qilip had brown skin, purple eyes, and long blue hair that reached his shoulder. Qilip's figure was even leaner than Jack's as he appeared to be nothing more than skin and bone underneath the surface. But since he carried Jack's [Spirit of Black Frost] power, he could destroy tanks and buildings with his bare hands. Jack had also made Qilip slightly taller than himself at 6'6" against his 6'3" height.
Troy was much different. Although he was the same height as Jack, he had muscles that were similar to a Saiyan. No matter how much effort Jack put in, he couldn't gain any mass on his body so he decided to make Troy in his image. Troy was given a 'more human' skin that was not as pale as Jack but was still caucasian. He also had black hair and green eyes.
Once he was sure of both of their designs, Jack confirmed his selections. He then felt intense pain come from the back of his head as the two orbs pierced out the back of his skull.
The two orbs appeared in front of his eyes before they both began to release a bright light that almost blinded Jack. One of them let out a bright green light while the other released a bright purple light.
When the lights faded, Jack could finally open his eyes again. He saw two figures standing in front of him, make as the day they were born. (Which I guess was that day.) Both of the avatars opened their eyes that were filled with intelligence.
"So it seems like it was a success," Qilip commented
"Indeed. I have all the memories of the original but also know that I'm a clone. Intriguing," said Troy from the side
"You both will not go Skynet on me, right?" asked Jack
"If we were, we wouldn't tell you," the avatars said at the same time
Jack nodded in appreciation.
'So their intelligence hasn't decreased.'
"Good. You both know your tasks and what you are to accomplish while you are away."
"Hmm. My main goal is to kill powerful beings and gain incredible power for us. I am also going to infiltrate magical organizations and dimensions to gain unique magic and knowledge from them," Troy knew what his goal was from Jack's memories
"I will head to space. I need to start spreading our influence and gaining information on the things that even SHIELD does not know about. I also need to secure fallbacks in case all of our Earth-based plans fail," Qilip said his peace
"Good. But first, we need to handle our biggest threat on the planet," Jack said to the pair. "We leave for Essex Corporation tomorrow at 6 pm. Stay here until then."
The avatars nodded in understanding. Jack made sure to keep some thoughts and plans secret from the pair in case they went rogue when he was not watching and spilled the plans to others.
