Capítulo 69: Issue #2

Jack then proceeded to the elevator which took him to the factory once again. He met the girls and the women on top. By the time they saw him, his usual smile had returned.

"Let's head home, ladies."

"We don't need to stand around and make sure nothing else happens?" Callisto asked

"Nope," Jack immediately denied. "Our job was simply to investigate. We have done that and beyond. I've also taken down the only powered individuals here while the sentinels aren't operational. They should be fine taking on normal people."

Callisto needed no further convincing before she started walking in the opposite direction. Wanda used her transmutation to create a disc large enough for their group to ride on. Jack then carried the disc and them back to their safe houses.

While the women packed their bags, Jack was sending out messages to a few people. He wanted to be prepared when he got back to New York.

After everyone was packed up, they went to the airport and took the same private jet as before. This was the first time the girls had been aboard a plane so they were shocked and scared during most of the flight.

"Are you sure it won't crash?"

"Is it really that stable?"

"Have they been maintaining it well?"

"Couldn't we just walk there?"

Jack answered all of her questions and held her hand as he sat next to her on the plane. He could understand the girl's nervousness so didn't make things more difficult for her.

When the plane landed in New York, the girls let out sighs of relief much to the amusement of the older mutants. But when they walked off the plane, they were greeted by a small army of SHIELD agents with a black man wearing an eye patch leading them.

"Jack Frost! You don't get to just decide what information you give to SHIELD and what information you don't."

Jack ignored him and stood still while waiting for the people he called to arrive. It would be easier for them to handle this situation than if Jack did it himself.

"Fury!" Steve Rogers shouted out as he appeared from the side. Next to him were Black Widow and Falcon. "He is an Avenger, not a SHIELD agent. Our organizations work together but we are not your subordinates."

"Captain. You are saying that your Avengers can keep anything they find on missions for themselves?"

"That's not at all what we are saying, Fury," Widow denied. "But this information has a lot of... sensitive information that SHIELD really does not need to see. Once we get rid of the information that has no benefit for you, you are more than welcome to get that copy of the data."

Being denied by 3 squad leaders of the Avengers put fury in a terrible mood. His usually stoic face gained a scowl.

"And what about those wea... children? Does the Avengers just take in anyone?" Fury III growled with the anger barely hidden in his voice

Hearing that he was about to call them weapons, Jack thought of several different ways he could kill Fury without being caught. And even more, ways he could kill him very publicly without caring about the consequences.

"We will be taking care of them," a voice said from the side

All those present turned and saw several people in yellow and black, as well as one who wore white, walking over to them. The one who spoke up was a man wearing red visors. Luckily for Fury, the X-Men had arrived.

"We have reason to believe that these children are made from the DNA of a few of our members. Which means that we should take care of them. I'm also pretty sure our school is more qualified to take care of children than SHIELD, Fury."

Seeing that the X-Men had arrived, Fury III knew his chances of getting the raw information and the children had gone from slim to none. Instead of replying, he turned around as he flicked his trench coat and left with the agents following him from behind.

{Jack. What do you think of the girls?} Emma asked in a private psychic channel

{I honestly think that if you had 4 sisters born at the same time as you, you would have been the same way. And although they all seem the same on the surface, I can see a few things that make them each unique from each other.}

{Will they be issues in the future?}

{Does it matter if they would be?} Jack asked in a teasing tone

Both he and Emma were the types that were willing to kill hundreds to save thousands but wouldn't lay their hands upon children even if it was the antichrist.

Being seen through so easily, Emma wanted to send a few images into Jack's mind as punishment but he had already put up his psychic shield in preparation.

"Rogers," Cyclops greeted Captain America

"Summers," he returned the greeting. "We get the filtered information and you can take the children with you. Sound good?"

"Hmm. The Professor has told us that our priorities are only the children. Even if the edited information was given to SHIELD, we were to just prepare for the worst."

Hearing this reply, Captain America felt even worse about the situation for mutants.

'The information about how to clone you and create mutant killing weapons would go from one shady organization to another in front of your eyes and all you would do is prepare for the worst?'

While the two of them were talking, Emma walked over to the girls and greeted them.

"Hello, ladies. My name is Emma Frost. Jack has told me a bit about you and I'm pretty sure he has told you about me. Do you ladies wish to follow me back to the institute? You as well, Luara."

The girls simultaneously turned to look at Jack. He was the one who had saved them and provided comfort. They trusted him the most.

"You guys should go with them. But this won't be the last time we meet. I plan to start visiting the institute once a week as long as I am not on a mission," Jack said to the girls but looked at Emma discreetly when said the last part

Hearing that he was not just passing them off, the girls let out sighs of relief. After being reassured several times, they followed the X-Men to the X-Jet while Jack left with the rest of the Avengers to one of the Quinjets

- In Genosha -

Mystique walked in on her lover, Destiny, who was kneeling on the floor and holding her head in pain.

"Destiny! What's wrong?"

Seeing Mystique return, Destiny stood up and wanted to play it off as nothing happened but looking at the worry in her lover's eyes, she knew it was better, to tell the truth.

"I had a vision. 'Smith born, frost made. Lives in the light yet thrive in the shade. Diamonds shatter, one last task, given his slaves. Carpenter's stepfather shall unleash the waves.' "
