This is an amazing novel, though the actual title should be "My master keeps breaking through at the end of his lifespan. " The novel is just about that - The MC has to live out the lifespan of every stage of cultivation, but he's guaranteed to break through. As he cannot cultivate, he gets to dabble deeply into auxillary methods, such as spellcrafting, puppetry, or alchemy. The novel is absolutely amazing, as it focuses on the life of a cultivator instead of cultivation. I haven't read it in a while, but from what I managed the author also makes sure not to bore reader to death by making MC stuck on a cultivation stage for 1k chapters.

great slice of life type novel it's great the premises is that the master can't level up till he is on the end of his lifespan which makes it intresting as we can see how he lives a life where everyone he knows becomes stronger or dies before him so hope this get picked

Read it until around chapter 100 in the raws. Slow story. This is certainly not a xianxia power rush. As another commenter as said, this is more like a slice of life novel. Some things to note: Just the fact that the MC's first major cultivation level has needed dozens of chapters to breakthrough should give the reader the right expectancy. The plot is the usual for this type of novel so don't expect great originality. The writing cannot be considered very good, but it is way above what we poor mortals are usually been fed in this site. The author seem to have done some little research about what he is talking about and not just spiting completely random BS just because it looks cool. Some characters are not just zero dimensional and could actually menace to reach 1 dim. In particular the MC. The author has managed to use all the tired and overtried chinese webnovel MC pseudo characteristics but managed to make them blend into something of a silhouette of a human being. That is a real achievement. This also means that our MC is not a copy of schwarzenegger's terminator. Unfortunately this also means that there are irritating situations and characters that hinder our easy reading flow. Some because of the way this caricature of a world influence its beings, and some just because the author is not that good at humor as needed in those cases. Note that this not mean that this story doesn't have humor. On the contrary. There is plenty of soft and even subtle humor, which is appropriate for a slice of life type of story. ... This author gives the feel of someone who is on its way to be a very capable professional writer, but only the future can tell. All in all this novel is readable and, given our drought of good books to read, might even deserve a 4 stars rating from me.

I don't understand why there are so many comments about the main character accepting the affection from the loli. It isn't pedophilia since there is no sexual attraction between them. Neither are they going to marry anytime soon. It is only an exchange in betrothal gifts to confirm their marriage in the future. Plus, it isn't even confirmed that the main character would follow through since he is just placating the loli right now. After all he can't just reject her cold heartedly, she is the close childhood friend he grew up with when he was young.

If you liked "a thousand year providence", you will definitely like this one. The premice is that the mc can only breakthrough at the end of his life, so he focus on other occupation (mainly alchemy and blacksmith). The system is almost absent and only make the mc sure to breakthrough on his last day. So if you're annoyed at those novels where the system does everything and more for the mc, don't worry. For now, every character has been detailed at least a bit, but not that much. All in all, really good for a trial novel. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Story is well paced, and characters doesn't feel shallow moreover there interaction feels natural. Mc is cool headed, he stays low key but not at extreme level. He also shows off sometime (which doesn't effect much). He will also travel to other places like secret realm(specially mentioned because some low key mc just stays at room) Also I will say translation quality can be improved, there were error in one or two sentences so far, rest is good. And world background is slowly raveled, it doesn't feel like information dump nor does it feel like it's lacking in information, overall it's good. So I can confidently say go ahead and read it. Current Reading status:- 20 chaps
