Despite Qin Jie's words, Chen Enci still flew out that evening.

At half past eleven in the evening, the airplane landed at the Capital Airport, and as soon as she had a signal, she immediately contacted Qin Jie.

She sent him a string of messages, but he didn't reply. She figured it was due to weak signal, and after disembarking the plane, she was calling him while waiting for her luggage.

She was just getting no answer.

It was only then she realized with a feeling of belated wisdom, that Qin Jie was actually angry when he said he felt forced.

Unable to contact Qin Jie, she knew the location of Elder Qin's birthday party. Despite the late hour, she still hailed a cab in hopes of finding him.

The restaurant was closed and besides the neon lights at the entrance, every window of the building was dark.

Chen Enci stood alone on the street, dialed Qin Jie several more times, but still got no answer.
