Qin Jie leaned in towards Chen Enci's ear, "Can you sleep?"

His tone was even, but there was a deliberate pause before the last word "sleep".

Chen Enci didn't immediately understand his meaning. His breath was warm against her ear, a faint heat that sent a shiver down her spine.

The car was extraordinarily quiet.

Almost half a minute later, Chen Enci finally understood what Qin Jie's words implied.

"Can you sleep?"…"Sleep," as an action, was a jab at her unfamiliarity with that area, hinting that he was the one leading her…

Chen Enci was so taken aback she tried to rise, but just as she was about to hit her head on the car roof, Qin Jie's hand pressed down on her head, stabilizing her back into her seat.

Her spine became even tenser; her small face rapidly flushed in visible progression, the redness spread downwards, coloring her neck and trailing down to the neckline of her dress.

For a moment, she forgot to disengage herself from Qin Jie's grasp.
