'Still it's not a bad thing. I doubt they'd want to be useless to him, so they'll do anything in their power to stand by him.' He analyzed and smiled to himself.

Basically, he told them that they would continue to endure the pressure until they no longer got injured and could do it without too much effort. So that's what they did.
