Capítulo 6: Chapter 6
Rose was surprised that Ryder had chosen to watch the notebook as it was an old classic but she wasn't complaining. She opened her wine and started to take sips.
She felt content as to how relaxing her weekend was, she watched the movie but it bought back memories of Gregg her ex, she had watched this movie with him in hopes that he would realize that he wanted to be with her forever but he broke up with her sorely because of his career and dreams.
He had wanted to pursue them without hindrance even though Rose was hurt she wasn't going to hold him back, she refused to beg him.
"Hello? are you there? Is anybody there?" Ryder asked
Rose snapped out of her thoughts, and she paid attention to Ryder, "Yes?"
"You seemed to have zoned out for a while there," Ryder replied.
"I was," she replied honestly.
"What are you thinking about?" Ryder probed.
"Someone."
Ryder's face fell and he seemed to be a hint jealous but that was all covered up in a flash, "Do you have a boyfriend? I doubt you have a husband as you don't wear a wedding ring."
"No I don't have a lover but I was thinking about my ex-boyfriend Gregg."
Rose saw Ryder's jaw twitch a bit, "Do you miss him?"
"No, this movie just bought back a memory."
"What memory," Ryder replied.
"You won't understand, you are young Ryder and you are still in your having fun phase. This is not just fooling around, but being committed."
"I can be serious, for the right woman."
Rose chuckled, "I guess you will be when you find the right girl. Marrying young is not a bad thing as you two would figure it out."
"I did say I would be committed, or married to the right woman and not my age," Ryder replied firmly.
"Okay, you know what I meant, even younger fine."
"Or older," Ryder responded quickly.
Rose nodded, "I guess you could do that too." as she gulped down her wine and tried to push Gregg out of her mind. She leaned back and kept on breezing through the movie.
When the movie was done and her wine finished, Rose got up and she stumbled a bit. She wondered if it was due to her sitting for a while.
She straightened a bit but on her third step, she staggered. Rose took a deep breath, all she had to do was put one foot in front of the other. As she took a step she found herself being lifted by Ryder and he was carrying her bridal style.
She tried to move out of his arms, wanting to insist that she could walk but he drew her much closer and held her tighter, "You going to fall down the stairs." said Ryder.
He moved swiftly and he managed to open the door whilst carrying her. He put her on her bed softly and opened her bed sheets for her, and she crawled in and lay down and closed her eyes that were fighting to stay awake.
Rose felt as if someone was stroking her hair in a caring and gentle manner.
