Capítulo 32: Conclusion Pt.1
Percy walked into the castle and saw that everything was a mess. Maids and servants were running around while guards were marching back and forth. Percy pulled one of the guards over and asked
"what's going on?"
The guard was startled at first, looked at the marine uniform and sighed in relief.
"It's the first prince sir, I think he started a coup."
"The first prince, now?"
"Yea, he's apparently holed up in the throne room with some of his personal guards. He sounds delirious."
Percy nodded and headed in the direction of the throne room.
[Must be the Trimm family, they're the ones supporting him after all. But why attack the king? I guess I need to find out.]
After about 5 minutes, he found his way around the large castle and entered the throne room to see everyone turned around looking at him.
He looked and was surprised, the first prince had a sword at the king's neck and guards were blocking anyone from getting near them. At the foot of the throne was the rest of the royal family and the ministers were there all with pale faces except the first queen who looked calm and collected. He looked at his commodores, who had a helpless expression on their faces.
"Eli, Good Price; tell me what's happening."
"Yes sir" Good Price started before he was cut off,
"You have no right to interfere peasant. This is a royal affair, the navy has no jurisdiction here" the first prince said as he stared at the vice admiral.
Percy was silent before he looked at his subordinates,
"continue"
"Yes sir" Good Price said before the prince started screaming,
"I SAID SHUT UP! I'm going to be king soon, so what I say goes."
Percy finally looked at the prince again,
"If you yell at me again...I will cut out your tongue, king or not."
The room was silent as black smoke was leaking out of Percy's body. A chilled filled the air as Percy kept eye contact with the first prince.
"G-guards, kill this man for me" the first prince said as he waved his sword at Percy.
The guards were hesitant, they knew that if they tried to move, the vice admiral had every right to kill them all. However, they were dedicated their lives to the first prince so there was hesitation.
*sigh* [times like this I wish I had conqueror's haki] Percy thought as the guards were deciding what to do.
Finally, the head guard said to the prince, "we cannot my prince, I'm willing to die for your cause, but I'm not going to send my men to their deaths because of this" he said while gesturing at the staring vice admiral.
"Trash! All of you are trash! How am I supposed to rule a country when I am surrounded by incompetent people like you."
The head guard's face darkened hearing the prince berate him in front of so much people. But he decided to endure all for the sake of hoping to get a higher position when the first prince takes the throne.
[I will remember this] the guard said as he clenched his fists.
Percy never spoke during the prince's tirade, and when the prince finished, he turned once again to his commodores,
"Well?"
"It's like this sir" this time Eli tried to explain. "We entered the castle as you commanded to find the same chaos as you did. We also found out about the coup and went to inquire about it when we entered the throne room. The first prince is screaming about some tape that he needs in order to become king, but the king is refusing. We asked what's going on, but was stopped by the first queen saying it's not our place. Now here we are."
Percy listened as understanding dawned upon him.
[So, the Trimms are using the first prince to get the tape, then Gabba was a distraction so the guards around the capital would not rush the castle. Does that mean Dio was also part of the Trimm strategy? Or was it Pakattik to add more confusion? Maybe Kaidou really did discover Gabba by himself and sent Dio out. I guess I'm going to find out soon.]
Percy looked at Hilda, "is the tape what you promised the Trimms in exchange for the throne?"
Hilda was silent before saying, "I told you, I could get you in contact with the cipher pol, but you didn't respond it time. Now here we are."
Percy nodded and was trying to decide what to do,
[I need to know either what's on the recording, or get it before either the Trimm or Pakatikk does] Percy thought as he was evaluating his options.
"Sir?" Eli asked while Percy was thinking.
"I'll explain everything later, I need to think. Give me a moment."
All eyes were on Percy, his decision will change the future of the Zandia kingdom. He has that much power and everyone knows it.
As Percy was thinking, a chuckled was heard throughout the throne room that broke his train of thought. He looked up to see the king, who still had a sword to his throat was laughing.
"Hehehehe vice admiral. Your wondering about the tape too aren't you, no need, I can give it to you."
Instantly, everyone's eyes shifted to the king as he reached under his seat and took out a small box. All eyes were on it as he stretched out his hands towards the marine,
"it's nothing but a curse. This little recording caused the destruction of not just my kingdom, but my family as well. Perhaps it would be best if you had it Mr. Percy."
As the king was speaking, Percy noticed that one of the ministers was taking little steps towards the throne. The vice admiral instantly used soru and arrived besides the king before anyone could react.
"Thank you, your highness. I will use this well" Percy said as he received the box from the king.
"Hey, that's mine, peasant!" the first prince said as he started to raise his sword towards Percy, but was backhanded by the vice admiral. The prince hit the wall of the throne room and he fell. A bloody line followed the prince as gravity dragged him to the floor.
The guards started to run towards their prince while the first queen started screaming
"How could you hit a royal?! I'll have your job, everything, everything for this! There'll be nothing left of your remains when I'm done."
"No you won't" Percy said as looked calmly at Hilda. "You're barely a world government nation as it stands and I doubt that you'll be able to pay the tribute this year. I'll be beyond your grasp by then."
"Maybe her, but not me" a voice said from the doorway. Everyone turned around to see a tall man in a black suit walking towards the crowd. Behind him was a woman, Percy immediately identified the duo.
"Gulp, and Zyn."
"Vice admiral Percy, we meet again" Gulp said as a fake smile was plastered across his face.
