Capítulo 22: Leaving the Baratie
Thirteen walked into the Baratie with Luffy in tow and looked at Zeff before saying "Thanks for having me." Zeff chuckled and said "No problem, kid." Thirteen nodded and Luffy ran over to Sanji as Zeff walked over to Thirteen and handed him a book.
Thirteen looked at the book and it read 'Devil Fruit Encyclopedia' he tilted his head and Zeff asked with a smirk "Can you read, Tiger brat?" Thirteen nodded and Zeff opened the book before pointing at a specific fruit, adding "This is the one you ate right?"
Thirteen looked at the picture, it was the very same fruit. Under it said 'Dense-Dense fruit. Turns the eater into a Density Man, able to control density. Paramecia. Full abilities: unknown' he looked back at Zeff, who said with a nostalgic look "I didn't know that guy died…"
Thirteen closed the book and handed it back to Zeff, saying "Thank you." Zeff waved him off and said "Keep it, it's an old one anyway." before walking off. Thirteen kept the book in his hands and clenched it tightly, watching Zeff go before turning around and walking outside.
Yosaku, who was somehow outside now, was setting up a ship and shivered as he waved to Thirteen, saying "Tiger-sama! I-I-I-I have o-our sh-ship!" Thirteen turned his attention to him and nodded as he walked over.
Yosaku tensed up and Thirteen hopped on the ship before sitting down, resting his back against the edges, and opened the Devil Fruit encyclopedia, reading it as he waited.
After a while, his ears twitched and he turned his head to the doors to see Sanji running standing outside. He picked up the chefs criticizing him for his terrible food just before, when he was watching, he suddenly heard "Not really. His food is delicious, but if he knows that he'll never leave."
Suddenly, Sanji stiffened as he listened to their words and Thirteen watched him go back inside so he turned back to his book.
After another dozen minutes, Luffy came out to the ship and grinned, running over, as he shouted "He's coming! Shishishi!" Thirteen glanced at him before turning back to his book.
Luffy hopped on the ship and stretched his neck over to Thirteen, saying "What's that?" Thirteen showed him the cover and Luffy shouted "Woah! Do they have me in there?!" Thirteen blinked and kept a finger on the page he was on before flipping through the pages to 'Gum-Gum fruit'.
When he got there, there was only a picture of the fruit and a description. He showed Luffy, who pouted and said "Aw man!" before crossing his arms and turning away, snapping his head back.
Thirteen went back to his page and continued reading.
Eventually, Sanji walked out to all the chefs lined up. Two of them charged at him but he kicked them both down in a second before continuing. The other chefs shook their heads and said "You'll never beat him…"
Sanji walked to the ship and Luffy said "No goodbyes?" Sanji smirked and said "Nah." before he stepped on the ship, Zeff said "Hey, Sanji… Don't catch cold." Sanji stiffened and Thirteen turned to him, watching him tear up before crying as he turned around and fell to his knees, smashing his head on the ground as he shouted "OWNER ZEFF! THANK YOU FOR TAKING CARE OF ME ALL THESE YEARS! I'LL NEVER FORGET YOUR KINDNESS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!"
Zeff smirked and started shedding tears as the chefs started crying and screaming "I'll miss you, damn it!" Sanji looked at them all and shouted "I'll see you again… You damn bastards!" before getting on the ship as Luffy laughed and shouted "Let's go! Set sail!"
The ship sailed away as Sanji wiped his tears continuously. Thirteen looked at Zeff and nodded at him as Zeff gave him a grin before turning around.
Thirteen watched as the Baratie got smaller and smaller before eventually disappearing. He turned back to his book and touched his face, feeling wetness. He was confused and wiped the 'water' off his face, forgetting about it as he continued to read.
The ship sailed to Cocoyashi with a new crew member for Luffy and new experiences for Thirteen… But these were only the start of a new life.
