Callie woke up refreshed. No dreams troubled her. She didn’t once wake up having to go to the bathroom. Was it daytime? She had no idea, but a light seemed to glow from around the flowers on the ceiling at least replicating the above ground event.
Her clothes were folded at the foot of the bed. They appeared to have been cleaned. Callie smiled. It would be good to be in clean clothes again after such a hurried and unique venue to arrive in Synthian.
All thoughts of her rest fled as the room shook. Callie clutched her clothes to her as she huddled down beside the bed. The flowers that encompassed the room huddled close together. Callie felt a little relief knowing that even the residents of Synthian trembled at the attack.
“I have to give it points for persistence,” Callie mumbled as she quickly changed into her clothes. The rumbling stopped by the time she was done.
