Capítulo 12: Day 1

The day had finally arrived. I woke up to find the sun streaming in through the open windows. The smell of bacon came up the stairs. My stomach growled in response as I quickly jumped out of bed and got dressed. I practically ran down the stairs and into the kitchen to find Mark hysterically dressed in a frilly apron and singing a Laura Belle Bundy song. I stopped as I entered the kitchen and began laughing at the scene before me. Mark turned around with a mock angry look on his face and wielding a spatula toward me.

“Listen here, young lady. Is this how you appreciate someone who gets up early and slaves over a stove to feed your empty stomach?” his attempt to look angry only made me laugh harder. I had not seen him act like this and ages. I ran up to him and threw my arms around him. We shared a passionate kiss that would have lingered on if the smell of burning bacon had not interrupted us.
