After what happened, all eyes are on Erin. Which added to his frustration. He locked himself up in his room after he went home. He knew that Marc arrived earlier than he did. He heard its door room open creak. Followed by a gentle walking that stopped in front of his room. He was already lying down in his bed. But still decided to hide under the blanket as well.
Moments later, he heard the footsteps fading slowly. Followed by a door closing, that's probably Marc's room.
He wasn't ready to face him yet. But he also can't hide there for the rest of his life.
"Erin, are you there?" he heard Dylan calling for him. "Marc said you need to eat before you go to bed."
The hell he cares. He thought to himself. If he did, he wouldn't let me be eaten whole by that monster in the first place.
"I'm not hungry." his voice sounded tired. And he didn't care to hide that fact either.
"That's odd, they haven't seen each other the whole day. There's no way that Marc could have hit a nerve on her again." Dylan seems to be talking to someone. And he's guessing that it's Andrei.
"It's probably the day of the month."
He rolled his eyeballs at Andrei's conclusion. As if he's blessed to have one.
"Come on, just have a bite. Marc had gone out so you could eat."
He forced himself to get up and walk to the door.
"I didn't tell him to do that," he said as he opened the door and saw the two men standing in front of it.
"We didn't say that so you could feel guilty. We just had the feeling that you two are obviously avoiding each other. Which is very odd-" he knew where Dylan's conclusion would lead him to. And to prevent that from going elsewhere, he went to the kitchen by himself.
And there he found all kinds of take-out. And mostly his favorites. Could Marc have known about it?
No. It's probably just a coincidence. He immediately pushed back the thoughts. Or he will end up being soft with Marc.
"So, is it the time of the month?" Dylan suddenly popped out the question while they were eating.
"No. It is not." he hissed at the latter. "And you shouldn't be asking a girl about that either."
Dylan was tapped lightly on the head by Andrei. As to make it less talkative. And downright sensitive.
It had its hand at the back of its neck barely surprised at what his friend did.
"Eat," Andrei warned later.

After having dinner, he was heading straight to his own room. Yet his gaze caught sight of Marc's door. Did it really go out just so he could eat?
Before he knew it, he was already standing in front of its room. He thought if Marc was just pretending not to be there. Just so he could feel guilty and not the other way around.
Whatever. He deserves it. I couldn't care less if he hasn't eaten himself. With that thought in mind, he came marching back to his own room. And locked the door.
He stared at it for a while. And let out a deep sigh before turning around.
"Oh my God, " he basically held his chest in a surprised manner.
The bastard was already lying in his bed waiting for him.
"What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for you." Marc seemed unbothered by the fact that he's pissed. "I know you wouldn't let me in and talk to you. So, I had my bodyguards lead you out of the room first."
He had his eyes shut out of frustration.
"Get out."
it started getting up from the bed. He actually thought that it would be walking out of his room. But its footsteps stopped in front of him. And hugged him all of a sudden.
"It wasn't that I didn't care. But if I had punched him then and there. It would only prove that you're a better target to get to me."
"W-why are you saying this?"
Instead of a reply. It went to kiss him in between his eyes. And instantly, he felt the sincerity it wanted to convey. More than the words it wanted to say.
"Don't worry, I'll fix this myself. Just trust me from now on. Okay?"
He nodded like an obedient puppy.
"Oh, did you like the take-out I got you? I asked Reese about your favorites earlier. I hope he didn't lie."
So, he did care.
"He didn't," he said slipping out of its embrace. "And thank you. It meant a lot."
" Okay." it looked disappointed for a while."Go to sleep. I'll see you tomorrow.
It had already crossed the threshold when it remembered something.
"About the thing that we talked about in the toilet earlier-"
Toilet? then a flashback of what made him feel at that time made him fluster hard.
"You know, Once I tasted something, and I liked it. It doesn't leave my mind. And nothing can ever quench my thirst until I'm fully satisfied.
"Can I sleep here?" Marc's voice made him realize that it wasn't a flashback anymore.
He started to shut the door. But Marc was quick enough to stall him.
"Just for tonight?"
"NO! Go to your room."
They were both too loud that Andrei and Dylan can't help but laugh at them. The two were still at the front lawn having coffee before going to bed.
Tennesey was running frantically towards a room. He didn't know why, but he felt his chest getting heavy with every step.
He was gasping as he began to recognize whose room it is.
"No, no, no," he said as he pushed the door open. There was an eerie silence circling the place. His eyes began to scan every part of it. There's no one around. The bathroom, he thought. Nothing had prepared him for what was about to greet him inside. The shower curtain on the tub was drawn. But there was definitely a shadow of someone's hand peeking from it.
He took a deep breath, though he can hardly breathe.
Please, don't let it be. He was praying hard as he took a
step closer. His hands began to shake as he drew the curtain to see who it is.
There it was lying under the warm water of the tub. It still has its clothes on, but it wasn't even breathing anymore.
A bottle was floating along with a few more pills that it hadn't taken. But it's merely a few compared to the ones that were missing.
"Why?" he dropped down to his knees knowing that he's already too late.
"Lowen," he woke up having trouble breathing. It was only a dream. But the one that never left his mind ever since. It was merely a reminder to never forget what happened that day. And it's all because of Marc.
***
"Lowen," Marc woke up holding Erin's hand tightly.
"You're having a bad dream."
Erin was right. The room was obviously freezing with the air-conditioning. But he's actually bathing in sweat.
It was the first time again since he had a dream about Lowen. Then his gaze turned to Erin's face. Could it be that it's not happy to see him being around the latter?
He gently shook his head and took his hand back from its wrist.
"What are you doing here?" he's suddenly acting indifferent in front of the latter. As if it had something to do with what happened.
"Andrei asked me to call you for breakfast." It started to explain. "I heard you murmuring behind the door, and thought that you might be having a nightmare so I-"
"I get it. You can leave now."
Erin looked hurt. That he thought for a second that it was Lowen's face that was staring back at him.
"You can go down first. I'll be there in a minute."
He felt terrible after Erin left the room. Why did he have to take it out on him? It's not like it's responsible for what happened that day.
***
Erin felt like crying after leaving Marc's room.
They've just reconciled and yet, it made him feel bad again.
And whose name was it calling earlier? It seemed really affected by it. Could it be someone so important?
He began dismissing the idea as soon as he reached the stairs. But somehow, his mind drifted somewhere else that his steps fell the wrong way.
A strong arm held him back from his waist. And when he lifted his stare, Marc was already wearing that almost terrified look on his face.
"Are you alright?" it was panting like it had to run a mile just to catch him.
"How are you-" he was going to say, here already? But he was cut short with its angry tone.
"Can you keep your head straight? If I hadn't followed you here, you'd be lying in the hospital. Or probably dead by now. What were you thinking going down the stairs without even looking?"
He pushed hard on its chest with much annoyance.
"If you hadn't treated me like trash earlier. I wouldn't be tripping as you said. And what's your problem anyway? It's not like I wanted to die."
He was shocked when it suddenly hit the wood railings of the stair. It seemed really angry at some point.
But when it placed both arms on his sides. It looked weak as it bowed its head down for a moment.
"Don't ever say that you're going to die. Promise me."
"I-I won't. I'm sorry."
The hands that were once placed on the railings went up to hug him.
It had him guessing later. What could be the reason for it to act like this? And he thought of the last name that went out of its lips.
Lowen. It must have been someone so important to Marc. That it messes greatly with its emotions. One moment it's indifferent, then sad and angry at the next.
They were all sitting at the dining table. When Andrei and Dylan began to notice the underlying silence between them.
Each had the same thought in mind as they exchanged glances. silently asking each other a question. Haven't they already reconciled last night?
***
"I'll just be in my room. Don't try and bother me unless it's important." Marc's words were obviously meant not just for his bodyguards. it went straight to the stairs, and later they heard a door slamming shut.
"Did you two have a fight again?" Dylan whispered to his ear.
Why is it always because of him?
"Try asking your bipolar boss, " he said as he went straight to the front lawn. He took a deep breath as soon as he sat there.
He must have been crazy to accept an offer from a guy like this? Come to think of it, the idea itself was just as crazy.
A car suddenly parked in front. He stood as soon as he recognized the owner.
It was Alexei Hanz.
