CHAPTER 42
On leaving the hospital, Daciana made her way to go visit Esmeray.
She had forgotten to take her bath earlier on. Well, it wasn't like she had that much time, she needed to save a life and being the one werewolf with healing powers, more was expected of her.
Like how she was not a doctor but was called upon like they would do to a doctor just to ensure one of their own was saved.
She wasn't complaining though. She was okay with it. It was just that sometimes, it weighed down on her person.
"Hello, Esmeray, good morning."
"Morning dear. I had been trying your line all morning."
"Sorry, I needed to help two of our survivors. So my phone was in Neil's office."
"No worries. How did the operation go? I heard one of them needed an operation instantly?"
"Yes. So I was also there to ensure he doesn't get worse and dies from there. In the end, they would be proud active survivors. It went well."
"Thank goodness then. By the way, about your little missy here."
"Yes, any problem?" Daciana stopped in her tracks were her car was just some few feets away and waited to hear from her friend.
"No. Where are you now?"
"On my way to my car and then your house."
"Okay. Because we really need to figure out where to put her. Do not forget, our mini foundation for our people, is a shelter for werewolves not humans. If she is there, they won't be as fee as they should and one day one of them might slip up and we do not want that, right?"
"Yes. I almost forgot. Okay, for now can you allow her stay with you and not in the foundation? Your house is big. The thing is that's eh needs protection and I want to give her a new start at life. A better one to be exact."
"Would that include you sending her to school?"
"Yes. It would. Besides, I found out that many humans need such help and I can just start another foundation for them too. Anyways, I would discuss the details with you when I come. For now, please let her remain."
"Okay, no worries. After all, my house is quite big for only me. It would be nice to have some company."
"Thank you very much, Esme. By the way, I need to send someone to get her brother and have him transferred to our hospital. I may need to cure him."
"Whoa! Dacy. That is risky."
"I know and well, I may just have to make both of them swear to secrecy if things go wrong."
"Sigh, you are taking a big risk, you know."
"I do. I also need to make several arrangements. Yeah, you ain't going to the office today?"
"Nope. I needed to keep an eye on her."
"She is not a baby, Esmeray." By now Daciana had entered her car and began driving in the direction leading to Esmeray's.
"I know. It is her first day in y home. I might as well be careful."
"Alright. Noted. I also need to sort her out as well. Do not worry I would soon be there. Just for now, help me call on my secretary and ask her about the business proposal if they had replied."
"Okay. That I can easily do."
"Yeah. Catch ya in ten."
By the time she arrived at Esmeray's house, she met Daria reading a book on the balcony and relaxing.
The moment the young girl saw her, she dropped the book on the table close to her and sprinted in Daciana's direction. "Welcome. I have been waiting for you," Daria confessed.
"Ah, sorry. Had an emergency. How are you?" She pulled back from the embrace to study her face. "Hmm, you look okay. Wow, those look good on you," she complimented her simple outfit.
To Daciana hat was a shocker seeing one of Esmeray's free short gowns on the younger girl's body.
For a certain, it did fit her. It made it seem like they were made for her. Right now she looked like the younger version of you know ho.
"Thanks. She gifted it to me since I haven't gotten my things yet and a few others.
"Good. Now, where is that friend of mine?"
"I do not know, ma but perhaps she is in her room."
"I am here," Esmeray announced, stepping outside to meet them. "You look like a mess, Dacy."
"Hey, girl. I know right? Well after I sort things out for her, I would go get a proper change, bath and the likes."
"You mean, bath, change and the likes," Esmeray corrected.
"Yeah, whatever. You know what I mean. Please tell me there is a nice hot meal waiting for my stomach."
"Sure. My head cook prepared the best delicacy. It was as though she knew the pr... I mean you were coming."
"Haha, bless her for me," Daciana winked at her, giving her the hint that she almost made a costly mistake revealing their identity.
"Come on let us go in."
"Besides, you can freshen up in my place. Do not forget why we have this big house, another escape route and your things are here."
"Yeah, I almost forgot."
"Great then. Do all you said here and then Daria and I can go to her place."
"Okay."
Together all three of them stepped into the house, leaving Daria to get herself in the parlour as Esmeray and Daciana went upstairs to her own room.
"Finally, now some privacy. What is going on Daciana?"
"I do not know. What do you mean?"
"Seems like your need to fix things up is getting to you and it feels like you are losing it."
"Neil called you," Daciana rolled her eyes at her.
"Yes he did but because he was concerned about you. You need to take a break. Rome wasn't built in a day and only you cannot fix us all. Calm down and allow people to help you."
