Capítulo 38: Serious Talk

"Jay, would you like to have a talk with me?"

"Eh?"

Miso let out a small squeak. She was surprised at how Ren blatantly asked to speak with him when he was still busily cooking their meal.

"Let's talk," his voice was calm and neutral, but that's what made Miso even more scared to talk with him. "You're free anyways."

"But you're still cooking the fish stew…" Miso tried to reason out, finding more excuses so that she couldn't talk to him. "It might get overcooked if you leave it."

"I'll manage," Ren responded as he sat next to Miso on the wooden floor, a small hallway just outside the house they were staying at. "I'm setting a timer for it."

"Okay," Miso felt the doom coming near her as she briefly closed her eyes and hoped for the best.
