Capítulo 16: Heart

"Carlisle knew that Percival was right. He had promised to kill the Archbishop. The leader of the Aphelion Duchy instead of forsaking the girl by his side.

"Didn't you like Francesca?"

When had that rumor started? He hadn't ever seen the young girl as anything but Adelaide's friend. That was all she was and slowly, she somehow believed that they were friendly and yet, Carlisle never considered that to be the case. Adelaide had taken his silence as compassion. His little sister had always been ignorant of this world.

Scowling, Carlisle realized that his spell had vanished due to his lack of composure. Yet, the blonde seemed to be sleeping.

"Percy, can you leave?"

I was not sleeping. I had awoken a couple of moments prior to a pointed question from Percival asking about Francesca. The silence that had followed made me internally sour. I hated it. I decided to ignore it as I forced myself to sleep once more.
