Ava's expression was difficult to decipher. Zeldris's heart beat erratically, nervous that she was going to chew him out, but that wasn't what happened. 

"Zel, you know how much I appreciate everything you do for me but you can't do everything. And you shouldn't have to. I really don't understand why you've even done this much after sticking around for so long. 

"You said it's not because of the blood bond but what other explanation is there? You take way too good care of me for it to be anything else. You already do enough though so don't push yourself. Nobody can fulfill all of a person's needs. You're the best friend I've ever had but even best friends can't do everything.

"Ah, this is so embarrassing! I want to be loved, okay? I haven't been on a single date since the whole Ian mess before now but Ryan is willing to give me a shot so I have to at least try to go for it.
