The moment Nyx's foot felt the warm waters of the Lethe going up her calf, she couldn't help but smile. This plan was completely reckless, but somehow it also felt right. Nobody would ever understand this drastic step, none but themselves. The pair stared at each other, caught up in the moment and what they were going to do. 

Where she might have laughed it off or panicked, she instead felt a calmness like never before settle over her as she looked back into the depths of Gabriel's piercing gaze. The flowing, shimmering water only came up to her waist. She watched as Gabriel released her hand and produced a dagger and what looked like a white wooden stake from his hip. Nyx wrapped her hand around one, staring at the sharpened end that gleamed back at her menacingly. The weight of the blade felt strange; she'd never needed to use one. Her powers were what protected her at all times.
