Capítulo 23: Puppets

"So it was really Mr. Heidi who orchestrated the missing kidnapping and asked Miss Rachel to cover it up?" At this time, Beatrice also realized that what Ebner said made sense.

"Of course, we'll have to investigate to find out if it's true or false! I'm only talking about a possibility. Maybe I'm wrong? Besides, my speculation was only based on ordinary circumstances…" If a supernatural being was involved, it would be another matter. Ebner didn't finish his sentence. He shook his head subconsciously and asked the police officer beside him, "What do you think?"

My opinion? My opinion is that detectives should really fight with each other! Since you've already said the truth, what else can I say?

Gritting her teeth, Beatrice snorted and said, "I've contacted Mr. Heidi. You can go in now!"

"It's us, thank you!"

After arguing with the police officer, the detective visited Heidi's house together.

To this, Mr. Heidi looked puzzled, as if he had something to say, but he held his tongue. Mrs. Heidi, however, acted as if she did not welcome them at all, and said bluntly:

"I'll find my little Becker myself. I don't need useless police officers like you! Leave quickly!"

Ebner and Officer Beatrice looked at each other, both thinking of a possibility. A possibility that the detective had just deduced.

Ignoring Mrs. Heidi's rude words, Officer Beatrice asked Mr. Heidi in a serious tone, "Did you hear the news of the ransom?"

Startled, Mr. Heidi asked, "How did you know?"

At this moment, Ebner interjected, "Your attitude has changed too quickly… Also, according to my observation, although Mrs. Heidi is still a little worried, she seems to have relaxed quite a bit, which means that you've made some progress." Of course, most of the relaxation was just a guess.

"So what if you've guessed it? We can redeem my little Baker with money. You don't have to do anything!" Mrs. Heidi could not help but shout again.

No wonder their son was so spoiled… Ebner could not help but shake his head. Ignoring Mrs. Heidi's clamor, he said to Mr. Heidi, "Sir, if I'm not wrong, the so-called kidnapper is probably a famous bandit, right?"

"That's right. The letter is signed by Red Ghost Tannick. He wants a ransom of 100 pounds…" Mr. Heidi thought for a moment and decided to report the matter to the police because he didn't trust the criminals.

I heard from my teacher that Red Ghost Tannick should be a spy planted in Backlund by the Church of the Eternal Blazing Sun. He's a Sequence 7 of the Sun pathway. He was slandered as a Red Ghost because his identity was discovered by the Church of Storms's Mandated Punishers… Would such a person kidnap a child? And it's just a mere 100 pounds? Heh heh, it's likely that Mr. Little heidi has only heard of this bandit's name, so he directly used it, right?

One had to know that 100 pounds were a huge sum for ordinary people, even for middle-class families. However, for Beyonders, this amount of money could only buy ten demon hunting bullets!

By the side, Beatrice was also shaking her head when she heard that. Although she didn't know that Red Ghost was a Beyonder, she knew that a Bandit with a bounty of 3,000 pounds from the Church of Storms wouldn't do something as trivial as kidnapping for 100 pounds. Perhaps the detective had guessed correctly.

"Darling, how can you tell them the details?! What if that person attacks our Little Baker because of this?" Mrs. Heidi shrieked again.

Unable to bear her high pitch, Ebner knocked his cane heavily on the ground a few times, causing the chandelier in the room to shake! Then, everyone in the room stared at Ebner in shock. Even Mrs. Heidi, who had a very high pitch, stopped talking.

"The negative effect of this cane can also be intimidating when used properly…" Ebner thought bitterly. He just wanted to attract the attention of Heidi and her husband, not create an earthquake.

At this time, Miss Rachel, who was hiding in the room upstairs, also ran down in a panic and shouted, "Mom, Dad, is it an earthquake?"

Hearing that, everyone looked at Ebner, who coughed awkwardly and changed the topic. "I have a few questions for Miss Rachel…"

"Huh? Me?" said Miss Rachel blankly.

"I want to ask you, why did you help your brother lie? Why did you help him cheat money from his parents?" While speaking, Ebner blinked rapidly and activated the pure white eye. With the natural suppression of his position, Miss Rachel became even more nervous.

"Because… because he found out that Dirk and I were dating… That's why he threatened me…" As expected, under the double pressure of Ebner's words and aura, Rachel's body began to tremble slightly, and her mental defenses were instantly broken. This was not a Beyonder power, but a loss of composure similar to people suddenly encountering something terrifying. Anyone with a strong will or rich experience would not be so affected, but clearly, Miss Rachel was neither.

However, as soon as Ebner turned off his pure white eye, the other man recovered quickly, but the lady was now deathly pale. She had clearly said something she shouldn't have.

"Rachel! What's going on? Tell me!" Mr. Heidi also realized something from the conversation between Ebner and her daughter. She demanded, "Also, where is Beck?"

But Mrs. Hettie's attention was elsewhere. "Rachel," she called out in a loud voice, "why are you dating that poor guy, Dirk?"

Rachel's face turned pale again. She didn't dare face her mother, so she stuttered to her father, "Beck… He should be looking for a friend named Emlyn… He said that if he can't get money from you, he should use his… dolls that he doesn't like anymore to exchange for money with that friend, and then buy…" She avoided the main point and completely ignored the fact that she was lying for her brother.

"Is it really for those dolls? That bastard!" Mr. Heidi revealed an obvious look of disgust. He had never cared about his son's so-called hobbies, so how could he have expected such a thing to happen? However, the shareholder quickly controlled his emotions. He turned around and said politely to Ebner and Beatrice, "I'm very grateful for your help. I'll definitely write an article in my newspaper to reward you! However, there's something I need to trouble you with. Can you help me find out where that person named Emlyn lives?"

If I'm not mistaken, it's at 48 Riverbay Avenue south of the bridge… Ebner answered in his heart, but he didn't say it out loud. After all, that was too godly.

However, I never expected Mr. Moon to have a good friend in the future? That doesn't seem right. Emlyn cherishes those treasures of his very much. He won't sell them off like Mr. Littlehetti. Just as Ebner was letting his imagination run wild, on the other side, Beatrice had already agreed to his request to investigate Emlyn's residence.

After that, they gave Miss Rachel a simple statement before bidding Heidi and her family farewell.

While waiting for the public carriage at the intersection, Beatrice looked at Ebner's cane strangely and mocked, "I was wondering why the carriage was so slow. It turns out that your cane was playing tricks on you. I think the coachman should have charged you more! What is it made of? To think that you can carry it!"

Ebner turned a deaf ear to him. He was thinking that although the cane was usually quite heavy, it wasn't to the point of shaking the house… It would only increase in weight when hitting the target.

So the negative effect that the Artisan agent lady mentioned is' very heavy 'referring to this… The striking action will increase its weight to such an extent. Then, it's impossible for it to be used as a weapon in the form of a cane because it's impossible to swing it… Heh heh, that's not entirely true. The effect when striking downwards is unexpectedly good… Could it be that its real name is' Traffic Vehicle and Buildings Destroyer above the second level '?

While Ebner was complaining in his mind, he suddenly saw the servants of the Heidi family walking past the two of them with many mannequins of various sizes. They were going to an open space near the street. It was a burning field that was often used to burn things that people did not want.

"Is Mr. Heidi angry because of his son's hobby and is going to attack his' cuties'?"

Ebner looked at the puppets with pity. He felt that many of them were exquisite and cute. It would be a waste to destroy them just like that.

At this moment, a cat-eared doll held by a maid triggered Ebner's spirituality. He subconsciously looked over, but he didn't find anything abnormal. He only had a strange feeling, as though that thing was very important to his future development.

"Did some existence trigger my spirituality? Or is that thing really connected to my future fate?"

Having no clue at all, Ebner couldn't help but activate the Eye of Pure White. He wanted to analyze it and see if he could understand its essence.

Then, with just a glance, he collapsed to the ground with a splitting headache and fainted!

Before he completely lost consciousness, there was only one word in Ebner's mind: gray fog!

He saw the gray fog!
