**CALLUM'S POV**

I had missed my sister fiercely. She had been gone for weeks, and so much had happened to her during that time. I mean, someone tried to kill her, for crying out loud. I didn't like this. Both times that she left for a season, her life had been in danger. I guess that I wasn't doing that good of a job as her brother. Not if people were still trying to hurt her like that. I needed to do better. I needed to protect her more. And, dammit, I needed to make sure that she did what she was supposed to.

Waiting for the carriage to arrive, with both Addie and Nolan on it, was like waiting for the babies to be born. It felt like it was taking almost a whole year rather than just a little more than half of the day. This was just so annoying. Why couldn't they be here already? Why did they have to go to that banquet? I mean, why have that celebration at all?
