Capítulo 36: Exploring the company.

A little murmuring generated from the workers after the manager made that statement, they were talking about Leonard. The manager continued speaking,

"You all know that two good workers left the marketing and finance department, and we need fill in. This guy is gonna be filling the blank space in the marketing department, so you all in the marketing department, get ready to cooperate with this guy. He's well experienced in the construction sector, so you guys would most likely enjoy working with him".

Then the manager focused his gaze on Leonard and uttered, "Introduce yourself to them, and after that, each of them would introduce themselves to you".

Leonard stepped forward a little and began speaking, "I'm Leonard by name, I am 25 years old. I've been in search of a job for some time now, and I heard that this construction company needs workers, so I decided to try out my luck. I was working in a certain construction company before under the same marketing department, but I left 'cause of the pay. So I think that's all I can say about myself".

The manager uttered, "Good, now you guys would introduce yourselves to him so he'll be familiar with you guys".

And so they did, each of them began introducing themselves to Leonard until they finished introducing themselves to him...it took a bit of time. After the introduction, Leonard noticed that some of the ladies among the workers were staring at him. Not just any type of stares, seductive stares. Were they perverts? Well, Leonard didn't mind 'cause they were all beautiful.

After the introduction, the manager uttered once again, "Now that you guys are done introducing yourselves, I'll like all the workers in the marketing department to step out".

They all stepped out, both males and females. And you know, one of the girls that was staring at Leonard seductively was among them, she was in the marketing department. Coming out, she gave Leonard that seductive stare once again, but Leonard got no time for this.

"Leonard, this is your team. As I told you earlier, you'll have to make sure to cooperate with them so you guys can do a good job always". The manager said to Leonard.

After saying that to Leonard, he glanced at the workers and said the same thing, "And you guys would have to cooperate with him also so you guys would keep doing a good job just as you've been doing".

They just nodded their heads to what he said, then the manager spoke again, "Now that you all are acquainted with him, and he's acquainted with you guys, you all can go back to your desks except for the workers in the marketing department".

The ones whose desks were on the last floor went back to their desks, but the ones whose desks were on the first floor began mounting the staircase. The manager then called out a person among the workers of the marketing department,

"Felix, please come out".

Felix came out and stood close to the manager, then the manager said to him, "I want you to show Leonard around this company so he'll be very familiar with this place. After that, I want you to show him his desk and answer whatever questions he asks. I don't think you'll need to teach him anything about the marketing department 'cause he's aware of almost everything. And as I said earlier, I want you guys to cooperate with him, no discrimination or any stuff like that,

I'll be heading to our current projects right now, the two buildings that we are working on. Leonard, you'll follow me to the sites later. As for now, Felix, please do all that I've asked you to do".

After making that statement, he walked away. Apart from Felix and Leonard, the rest of the other workers under the marketing department walked away also. Then Felix focused his gaze on Leonard and inquired,

"Are you ready? Should we get going?".

"Yeah, I'm as ready as ever, let the exploring begin". Leonard uttered.

With that, the both of them began strolling walking side by side. As they sauntered, they conversed, Felix asked Leonard questions, and Leonard asked Felix questions. They sauntered until they arrived at a certain door on the last floor, then Felix opened it as the both of them stepped into it. The next thing Leonard set eyes on was tables and chairs around it.

He was confused what they were for, so he inquired of Felix, "What are these chairs and tables for?".

"This is where all workers come to eat lunch. There are cooks in this company that cooks for all workers, they prepare different dishes everyday. This is how it works, we'll eat their food from Monday to Friday without paying anything, then by next week, we'll settle the bills of all that we ate and begin eating another round of food for that week. Then when next week reaches, we'll settle the bills, that's how it keeps going and going,

And settling the bills isn't hard 'cause we all collect weekly bonuses. Leonard, you came to the right company".

Leonard shook his head a little and let out, "Wow! That's nice".

"Yeah, really nice. Let's just call this place lunchroom". Felix said.

"Cool".

With that, the both of them walked out of that room. Then they entered a certain passage, and Leonard could see doors lined across the passage. The passage and wall were tiled, and they were so neat and sparkling. It was so neat that Leonard couldn't keep it to himself,

"Felix, this place is so neat".

"Yeah, the female janitor makes sure to clean it everyday. Apart from this place, she cleans around this company also".

"She's doing a great job". Leonard commended. He had noticed that these doors lined across were toilets, so he uttered once again, "These are toilets, right?".

"Yeah, these are the female toilets. We'll have to stroll further to locate the male toilets". Felix responded.

The both of them strolled further until they arrived at another line of doors. Before Felix said it, Leonard had already discerned that these were the male toilets.

"These are the male toilets".

"Yeah, already discerned that", Leonard stated, then he inquired, "Can I take a look at one of them?".

"Sure, you're free".

Leonard opened one of the doors of the toilets and glanced inside, and it was sparkling white. He took his head off it, closed the door, and said to Felix,

"One word, neat".

"Yeah, let's explore the other parts of this company".

They strolled out of the passage, and Felix showed Leonard the other parts of the company. Then he said to Leonard,

"It's time to take you to your desk".

The both of them began mounting the staircase. Climbing the staircase, Leonard asked Felix,

"So my desk is on the first floor?".

"Yeah, mine too is on the first floor, all workers of the marketing department are on the first floor".

"Ohh". Leonard let out nodding his head in understanding.

They reached the first floor, and Felix took Leonard to his desk. The desk the worker under the marketing department was occupying before he left. There was a computer in front of the desk, this would be of great help to him when he's doing his job. Other desks around the first floor had computers in them also. Leonard knew how to operate a computer, and he knew what the computer was used for in terms of the marketing stuff...it's part of what the system taught him.

But he knew he'll need the help of Felix regarding some stuff about the computer, there are some things he wasn't aware of. Leonard balanced on his desk, and as Felix was about to go, he halted him saying,

"I definitely know how to use this computer in front of me, but there are some things am ain't aware of. Would you teach me?".

"Sure".

With that, Felix put on the computer and began teaching Leonard the things he wasn't aware of. After that, Leonard and the workers in the marketing department came together to discuss. They told Leonard the part he'll be playing, the works that would be assigned to him most of the time, and the rest of the other stuff. After that, they bonded, they got to know more about each other...Leonard lied a lot, he wouldn't tell them that he was from Earth 1 and he has an important quest to accomplish?

Though they had introduced themselves to each other on the last floor, that wasn't enough. Since they were all in the same department, they had to learn a lot more about Leonard, and Leonard learned a lot more about them. Throughout their conversation and bonding, that young lady kept on giving Leonard that seductive stare.

But there was one thing she wasn't aware of. Leonard was here to work hard so he'll be able to collect his pay on time and accomplish his first quest...that was the most important to him right now.
