Capítulo 52: LII : pissed off by the old girl
It won't take long before she runs out of energy. She waited and the attack came from the side and this time she could only dodge it by less than an inch.
When the attack came again, she tried to dodge but the knife came in contact with the back of her hand as she used it to shield her neck which the person seemed to have been targeting all.
She heard a whistle which told her the little girl was definitely around but she was not making any move to safe her or interfere.
She frowned knowing that her blood had being spilled for the first time by someone against her wish.
She actually had to let out some blood when her teacher asked her to make the concoction the knife was soaked in.
She did it willingly and her teacher kept asking her if she was okay with it over and over again before giving her the knife and a warning not to let the blood spill anywhere except in the bowl she had prepared.
Her teacher told her that was mandatory because she was a member of the Royal family and it is wrong to draw blood from someone of the Royal family especially a female.
She could not remember reading anything of that sort in their history book or heading about it either but her teacher saw to it that her blood did not get spilled.
Her teacher applied an ointment on her palm then and before the following day, the wound was gone leaving behind no scar or trace of what happened earlier.
She felt angry that this man was bold enough to actually draw blood from her.
She raised her head letting the cold breeze of the night blow on her face that grew hot due to the anger she felt.
She felt the senses of her body heightened as she felt the presence of the man and could picture the movements he was making as though she was staring at him in broad daylight.
With a slight but fast move her body which seemed to be acting on its own, her dagger was soon buried in the neck of the man who had hidden himself well in the shadows with a fast swing of her hand.
When she finally came to a rest, she felt very dizzy due to the sudden movement she had just made.
She felt the warm blood that had spilled on her begin cooling as well as drying off.
"That was awesome but you could actually be faster than that," the little girl she opened her eyes to discover was visibly standing only few handspans away from her.
The night was right enough for her to see the look of admiration the girl wore but when she looked down at her hands which were now stained with blood, she began very angry.
This was the first time she had killed someone or perhaps the first time she was aware of the murderous act she had just carried out.
She glared at the little girl who seemed oblivious to her angry state. "You could have stopped it! Weren't you assigned to ensure my safety?"
"I know, right?" the girl asked with an innocent pout.
The bright moon light that found parts among the little openings to shine light to them making her cute lips shine in way that made her look too unreal to be in the middle of the woods at that time and equally too innocent to have watched Aurora fight for her life with out saving or helping her when she was very capable of doing that.
"Give me a horse I will continue my journey on my own from now onwards," Aurora demanded trying not to sound petty but dominant as a senior.
"If you want a horse, get it yourself. You should not be angry. You are definitely at fault here. I saved your life earlier when we met and I gave you a simply warning, "Do not leave the cave".
"You did, you left the cave. Do you think I was stupid or being a slave master by telling you that you should not leave while I was away?
"If you think my words are not relevant enough to be taken seriously, then you can find your horse and continue your journey alone although I will definitely not let that happen.
"I will simply knock you out and carry you through the journey. You will wake up in our most secured dungeon."
After talking without a pause for rest or anything else, she stopped and met Aurora's gaze. It was evident that the anger she saw in it earlier had subsided obviously.
"Let us go inside," she said making the cave visible.
Aurora scoffed angry that the girl actually had the guts to talk to her the way she just did.
"I need to wash this off."
"I am sorry but for tonight, we are to pack up and continue our journey or we are going to have to fight some irrelevant enemies."
"A night journey?"
"Yes, one you made mandatory. I actually believed you were going to stay in the cave quietly like always. They are only a couple of miles away and most have smelt the blood of their brother," the girl scolded her like an angry grandmother.
"I want to wash this off," Aurora reminded her like a spoilt grandchild of the bloodied state she was in now. She was beginning to get sick of the metallic smell.
"I don't care," the girl made her stand clear sternly as she gave Aurora a daring look. It was as though she was telling her to try go find water herself on her own.
"You . . ." was all Aurora could let out of her lips as she glared at the centuries old girl.
The girl did not wait for Aurora as she got their things out and when Aurora made an attempt to go into the cave, the cave turned into a stone at her feet.
She turned to look at the girl who seemed to be pissing her off intentionally.
