Capítulo 23: XXIII
The angry general continued advancing towards the two prisoners.
He held Aurora's chin between his fingers and lifted her face up as he swatted in front of her. "Open your eyes," he ordered her when he noticed that her eyes were tightly shut.
Aurora did immediately. She opened her brown eyes and stared into his eyes fearlessly.
He was taken aback because he thought he saw a shade of green in her eyes earlier when he walked into the Court yard.
Helen who was shaking and almost wetting her pants in fear of what could happen to her master since despite the disguise that her master's teacher did, her master still had her bright beautiful green eyes.
"You look . . ." The general began as he slowly stood up and straighten his back. He looked at the skin that once looked so beautiful that now looked rough with lots of hair like a very hairy man.
The general found himself in very confused state. He was perplexed. Could he have seen wrong earlier? He felt that he must have been missing a woman to see a man and think it was a woman and even let his mind wander to the possibility of her been the very princess who beats every woman in the kingdom with her beauty.
The prince's lower lip dropped when he was faxed with the sudden transformation. Wasn't the stranger the person he was confused earlier if how beautiful and man's skin looked. That skin was right now covered with hair like the prisoner walked into the camp as a very hairy man.
"I will leave now. When you are done having fun, send them off. I don't want anymore ugly prisoners around," the bulky general said saying each word as if he was forced to as his gaze remained fixed on the prisoner's brown eyes.
Helen exhaled in relief when the man finally left the court yard. She was also praying that he won't notice her at all and she was lucky that happened. She was more obviously a girl considering her higher pitches voice and timidness.
She would have turned out to be the reason they might stay longer if the man had noticed them.
"Now I know how you could make someone who looked just like me use my identity to release you from the prison. You know sorcery. You are a wizard, right? Why then did you let me arrest you so easily?" The prince Viktor asked in whisper loud enough for them alone to hear after standing up and walking over to them.
"I am not a wizard but I know a wizard. He saved me when I almost got arrested in the city and he was not around to help me when you came to arrest me this morning," Aurora told him sincerely. She had no reason to lie about that.
"What about what you just did? How could you control him to let you go? If it was on a normal day, he would probably have ordered for you to get tortured especially because you are acquainted with the princess who he hates," the prince did not hide his surprise in his voice.
"It is all because of a concoction my wizard friend gave me. There is more to what meets the eyes. I will tell you the truth about where I am headed because I think you deserve to know.
"I was sent to the land of the werewolves to help the princess get revenge. It is a secret mission issued by the king himself. The king asked the wizard for help. I might not make it back alive," Aurora told him sincerely just like she was not in a disguise.
This is where they will part never to be seen again. She really wanted to hug and she succumbed to that desire.
"A secret mission?" the prince asked a little skeptical. "How will you be able to kill a werewolf?" the frame of the man was not that of a very powerful warrior who could be a werewolf Slayer. From what he heard they have been sending some to reduce the population of the werewolves from each kingdom.
"I am going to be able to do that with the help of the wizard's charm. My friend is a very powerful wizard and they princess will only feel ease once I have accomplished my mission. Please could you loose my hands?"
"Oh sure. I want you to leave right away before my uncle changes his mind because once he does, he will never let you leave the same. He will have a lot of fun with you and I don't think you will survive it."
The prince bent and began loosing the thick ropes that bind Aurora's hands behind her and when he moved to Helen, Aurora pulled him back to her and gave him a friendly short hug and pat his back with a smile.
"That is the second message I brought from the princess for you. She is also wishing you well. She is leaving to get married soon and she also bids you farewell," Aurora said as she pulled back and left the courtyard hastily after loosing her maid's hands.
As she galloped off on her horse, she glanced back at the tall walls of the camp and sighed. That was a short meeting but so far, he was the only person who made her feel emotional about her mission of no return.
She was however happy that she saw he before travelling to her death. She could bid him farewell. It has been over ten years since she saw him last and it was great.
"Princess," Helen called out when she noticed how down her master looked as they rode off. She was not around when the prince was at home but she could easily see how much her master cared for her cousin.
"Do you think the general is going to be a problem for him when he becomes king?" Aurora asked. She was seriously considering going back and burying the tip of her sword in the general's abdomen.
