Capítulo 3: III

"Don't ever believe the words of these creatures. Remember they killed your parents and grandparents. Remember what they did to our family," her uncle, the king suddenly called from his throne as he slowly stood up to hide his nervousness.

He walked down the steps from his throne and stopped few feet away from where the werewolf knelt.

"The goddess has sent you to us," the man continued. Talking now, he looked like he was in a trance as he stared ahead at nothing in particular. "The god . . ." the man could not continue this sentence because his head was severed off to the ground.

Aurora noticed what was about to happen but she made no attempt to stop it. They all deserved to die.

"Don't believe what he said. He is not in his normal sense because of the poison of the wolfs bane. He was already nearing his death," the king said and looked down at the silver sword he now held in his hand that had the blood of the werewolf dripping from it to the floor.

She did not reply him. Her uncle had a habit of explaining almost everything to her ever since she was a kid.

Most ladies in the kingdoms will freak out at the sight of blood not to talk of the gory sight before her but she remained calm as she tried not to get suspicious of her uncle because he clearly stopped the werewolf from saying something she was very interested in hearing, something that seemed to have a good amount of truth in it.

The werewolf's brown hair luckily covered his eyes because she was not sure she will be able to stand the sight of his eyes which were clearly opened when her uncle swung his very sharp sword that shone so bright in the smallest ray of light.

She fixed her gaze on the blood that dripped to the floor with second and it began slowing down until finally, it stopped with the last droplet of blood on the sword drying up on it.

The sword her uncle now holds was designed by her late elder brother who said he was going to give it to her twin brother when he turns thirteen so they will go together and guard the border of their land from the werewolves and other nonhumans.

Her brother had very good artistic skill she had a few with her till this day. She miss them all every day and with every small details she saw that had acted as a reminder of what she lost that day, she got hungrier for vengeance.

She knew her uncle knew about this and he was using it to his advantage. She did not care because what she wanted was what he wanted and there was nothing he was asking her to do that she did not want to do.

He just killed a werewolf with a sword her brother designed. What could be a greater reminder of her anger and plan for vengeance than that?

He moved closer to her after giving his sword to his personal servant boy. "I don't want most people in the kingdom to know because we have some traitors among us but you have to go soon.

"The seer said you have to go before the fortnight and your journey might take longer so, you have to be as fast as you can be. The alpha will be in his weakest point in a fortnight and that is just the perfect time to put the dagger in your possession to use."

She clearly remembered the dagger in her possession which her teacher soaked in a bowl that contained her blood, the teacher's blood and oil gotten from wolfs bane for over a year but she did not remember when they told her she has to go in a fortnight.

She knew that she was not supposed to leave in a month. "I . . ." she began as she felt a foreign cold feeling down her spine that made her try very hard to hold back a shiver.

"Let us talk in my study," he said and began walking towards the door that led to the west wing which was his part of the castle as the king.

She obeyed him and followed him while his personal guards and two of his closest subordinates followed behind her. Only the two of them entered his study when they got to his study.

"Sit down," he said before reaching for the gold crown on his head and removed it and placed it on the large brown wooden table.

He adjusted his brown hair which looked just like her father's hair brown that it looked so identical to the mane of the lion her grandfather got as a birthday gift from a neighboring kingdom.

She obeyed him as she made herself comfortable on one of the seats in front of the big wooden table. "I never knew my mission was so urgent that I was not made aware of it," she said with a respectful tone that did a not very good job of masking her anger.

The king chuckled softly and stroked his beards gently. "I am sorry that you have to leave so suddenly princess," he said with a gentle tone that could not hide his insincerity.

Aurora did not take his apology seriously but she knew that as far as the information he just told her was from the seer who was her teacher there was nothing she could do than to obey the final call.

She had accepted the first call and has been progressing from one call to another call for all these while so taking the final step might not be hard, right?

There was no one in her kingdom that could do that except her.

She was the sole survivor of the massacre and her people who did not believe in sorcery invited the seer who became her teacher to find out why she was not killed and the seer told them that she was the special. From that day, she was given the task of a future vengeance.

She wanted to give up when she was thirteen when she wanted to live like the other noble ladies her cousins included but when the seer forced her to remember what happened that night, she had to accept task and answer the calling.
