So around the start of this year, I started editing and rewriting the enormous 210,000-word fiction. As of today, July 11th, 2023, I've finally finished with the edits.
Now, instead of just being 210,000 words, it is now ~350,000. That's 140,000 more words of additional content.
So what do these contents include?
- New scenes that hint at the nature of the Final Arc.
- Subtle foreshadowing of future events.
- Better characterizations.
- Rewriting almost every scene to add more detail.
- Better BGM for battle scenes.
- More consistent internal logic.
- Retcon of certain technologies that don't really fit.
- Better grammar.
- Some typos.
Now what the edits haven't changed is the general plot of Inspired Inventor. That still remains, only details about the plot have changed. As for whether or not you should reread the whole thing? It's up to you. The Final Arc will reference past events that weren't in their pre-edit state but they range from small(ish) to rewriting the backstory of an entire character. Even so, they shouldn't impede upon your enjoyment of the story.
