I wanted to cry desperately but what was the point of crying? I have Lucien right now with me. Why should I be sad about what could possibly happen in the future? Anything could happen in the future. Mildred had told me already that I was in danger as well. What if both of us died? I will be with him forever. Is that what I wanted? I don't know. I never want Lucien to die especially because of me. I couldn't live or die with it. I sighed looking at the few people who have managed to start a fresh living away from the war. I know they lost many. Could I force them to give what little they have right now? Whether it is people or resources?

" Mara", I heard a small voice. I wiped the tears at the corner of my mouth and looked at a concerned Riley looking at me.

"Hey there", I greeted her with as much happiness as I can manage.

"I know there is something that trouble you. Tell me", said her.
