Capítulo 38: Chapter 38

AN: I decided to use "SAKURA" for Past Era Sakura, "Sakura" for the Current Era Sakura, and "PE Rin" as "RIN."

_ _ _

"Rin?" SAKURA asked, puzzled as the two Rins replied, and Higokumaru glanced at her, making her sweatdrop. "What's happening?" She couldn't help but ask.

"I'm Rin from a different counterpart," Rin said, raising her hand and pointing at RIN.

"I'm Rin, your sister," RIN said, also raising her hand.

"I'm Rin from the future, but you should call me Higokumaru," Higokumaru said, raising her hand too.

SAKURA was shocked to realize that her sister's counterpart and future self were present together with her.

"Ri- I mean, Higokumaru, did you become a mantis?" SAKURA asked Higokumaru without doubting her words that she came from the future.

"It's something like that," Higokumaru replied with a sad expression.

"Can you tell me your story?" SAKURA asked once again, curious about what had happened to her for her to wear such an expression.

Higokumaru shook her head. "It's better for you not to know," she said, giving her sister a reassuring smile.

SAKURA didn't know what to say, but she was glad that her sister had matured and was alive.

"I'm sorry to interrupt, but what is this MANTIS you're talking about?" Amane asked, curious about the topic.

"Who are you?" SAKURA asked, looking at the handsome guy who was playing with the three Rins when she arrived.

"He's Fujimiya Amane. He's really cool and fun to play with. Onee-chan, if you dated him, I'd gladly support you. But the only flaw he has is that he's a bit of a womanizer," RIN said, giving her sister a thumbs up. Amane smiled wryly but didn't argue with her statement.

"R-RIN!" SAKURA stuttered, her face turning red as she stared at her sister.

"What? You're a soldier and single at that. What's the harm in having a relationship?" RIN replied, causing SAKURA to feel like she was being pierced by arrows.

SAKURA let out a sigh as she gazed at Amane, her cheeks once again turning pink. "Ehem... To combat the Honkai in this era, Dr. Mei proposed the Soldier project."

"The genes and DNA of Honkai Beasts were identified, extracted, and inserted into human subjects, granting them superhuman powers and innate Honkai resistance. These genetically engineered humans would be known as the MANTIS."

"M-Massively

A-Augmented

N-Neo

T-TECH

I-Integrated

S-Soldiers"

"What? So they conducted human experiments?" Theresa asked as she arrived in the living room and looked at the exact copy of Sakura.

SAKURA was shocked to see someone who looked exactly like the Herrscher of Binding, who single-handedly decimated half of the MANTIS population and the soldiers of Fire Moth. (AN: I can't help but think of it as Herrscher of Bondage)

"Yes, but the people who were used as experimental subjects volunteered instead of being forced," SAKURA explained.

"Amane, what's for dinner tonight?" Kiana asked, just having woken up and still feeling groggy.

"It's already the middle of the night, Kiana," Amane replied, but Kiana's stomach growled loudly.

"I'm hungry!" Kiana exclaimed as she sat down and then noticed SAKURA and another Sakura coming out of her room. "I must be hallucinating because I'm seeing two Sakuras, just like Rin."

"You're me?" Sakura asked, her expression filled with shock.

"I'm you?" SAKURA asked, tilting her head in confusion.

"Reminds me of the Spider-Man meme," Amane and Kiana said simultaneously, continuing with their own activities.

"I messed up, I think. We're back in the original timeline of Kiana's world, but in the past. I should have let Metis handle things on her own," Amane grumbled. "Well, beggars can't be choosers."

"What do you mean?" Theresa asked, not aware that Amane had moved her stigma space into his imaginary tree.

Amane began explaining everything, causing Seele's eyes to widen in shock.

"Amane Onii-san, are you from the original world?" Seele asked with a hopeful expression.

"Yeah, wait, are you Seele? Bronya's little sister?" Amane said, recalling his conversation with Bronya about helping her save her younger sister from the Sea of Quanta.

Seele nodded, her tears flowing freely as she heard the familiar name. She hugged Sakura tightly, and Sakura gently patted her head, relieved that Seele had finally found her long-lost companion that she was talking about.

(Unkown pov)

I don't know how long I've been here in this dark place.

I named it a void because it's all darkness. Maybe I should call it an abyss or something.

"Hello young one." A voice said as the dark space around me suddenly brighten up.

"Are you a god?" I asked, looking at the radiant orb of light.

"No, I'm Metatron," the glowing orb replied. "I apologize for my oversight; I didn't realize an external soul from beyond the Imaginary tree or Sea of Quanta would end up here."

"As an apology, I will analyze the good karma you have accumulated and offer you a reward of your choice," it said, and a window appeared in front of me.

Good Karma: 5,000,000

Bad Karma: 69

"Now, I will show you the shop where you can buy things and skills. Please note that you should leave a thousand good karma to avoid receiving bad luck."

"Why do I have a million good karma? I didn't do anything remarkable. In fact, I think it should be the opposite," I asked, recalling a shameful thing I did to my cousin while he was asleep.

I have strong feelings for him, but the fact that he's my blood relative led me to keep my distance. This decision has caused me to be broken hearted.

Even at the age of 25, I'm still single. When I heard the news of his accident, I couldn't help but regret not being there for him when he was still alive.

He didn't have a girlfriend even when he turned 27. I should have taken that opportunity to confess my feelings to him. What shocked me the most was that my mother knew about my feelings for him, and even his mom was aware of it.

"Stop reminiscing and choose a skill, young one. I don't have much time to spare," Metatron's voice snapped me out of my past memories.

I glanced at the shop and saw numerous overpowered skills. Being an otaku made it easy for me to understand the skills listed here.

Without much thought, I immediately chose the Gamer System, even though it cost a hefty 2,500,000.

Next, I picked the Essences of Blank for 1,000,000, for limitless level followed by "Return to Beginning" for 780,000. Incase I'm in the most dangerous world I can just go back from beginning.

For the fourth choice, I picked for Dungeon Creation skill, which cost 100,000.

Lastly, I selected the Level Offering skill, which would sacrifice my tenth level for double experience. Its price was 500,000.

After these selections, I was left with 120,000 good karma.

"Metatron-san, I'm done buying what I needed."

Upon saying that, a blinding light surrounded me. When I opened my eyes again, I was being held by a woman, with a man embracing her from behind.

In my haste, I had forgotten to asked whether my cousin had also been reincarnated.

_ _ _

It's been 3 years.

Over this past 3 years, I've learned a lot and realized that I'm in Honkai Impact 3rd, even though I only had 120,000 Karma. Unfortunately, that didn't spare me from ending up in this chaotic world.

To make matters worse, it seems I'm in the past era, a time even more dangerous than the current era.

I blame my luck for this. Thanks to the Gamer's Body skill, I've been able to mature quickly and adapt faster. Even my Gamer's Mind is helping me stay mentally strong.

I chose to read every engineering book in my family's library because genetic engineering could help me create super soldiers and build potent weapons and training facilities.

After recreating the Shadow Clone technique, I invested my status points into vitality, wisdom, and intelligence, and it finally paid off.

But it wasn't enough. I needed to reach a million levels. Knowing that the Herrscher of the End was an overpowered AI with a plan to reset the world from the start, defeating it would be a challenge.

"Clones, create a hyperbolic time chamber for you to level up faster, and now I'm going to focus on enjoying my life." I could feel the deadpan expressions of my clones as they looked at me, but who cares about my slaves—I mean clones.

"Honey, I'm home," I heard the voices of my mother and father from the front door as they entered the house.

"Go to the secret hideout!" I ordered my clones, and they quickly pressed the wall. It suddenly opened, and they hurriedly got inside.

That place was my secret hideout, and creating it was challenging to ensure that my parents wouldn't notice or discover it.

"Lea, dear... I have a surprise for you," my mother said as she hugged me.

I was named Lea, as my father's name was Leon and my mother's name is Alice. They don't have surnames, which is weird, but considering I'm in the past era, it's not that unusual.

"Mom? What is it?" I asked, looking around but not seeing any gift.

"We enrolled you in elementary school. Now you can make friends and play with other kids," my mother said, smiling excitedly.

"Mom, why not send me to college instead of elementary school? It's better to interact with people of higher intelligence than with kids," I asked, considering my own intelligence and the various skills I've recreated, which might make me a prodigy.

"No can do, honey," my father answered. "The government might use that opportunity to manipulate you. It's better to keep a low profile than become a pawn in their military strategies."

He had a point, and I couldn't deny it. My father worked as a Fire Moth soldier, and my mother was the assistant of a 10-year-old girl who learned to speak the moment she was born.

Now I just need to wait for Fujimiya Amane to arrive at Rin's prison cell and ask him for help with my project. He seems like the perfect household husband, similar to Emiya Shirou, and he's even an emperor. Plus, he's incredibly overpowered, capable of traveling the Sea of Quanta and playing around effortlessly.

Despite having such strength, he didn't engage in a battle with the HoV for unknown reasons.
