Capítulo 52: Alone And Outhexed

_______________

POV: 3rd person

_______________

Hyacinth stumbled to her feet and began to run as the battle against the elf and beastman duo began behind her. When she was far enough away she could safely teleport away Diana from the battle and escape with her. She had to save her because if that silver monster survived, she would be hunted to edges of the earth! Oh why had they accepted such a job?

She stumbled and fell into the dirt and mud, mucking up her attire as she scrambled to her feet.

*ZZZAAAAKKKK!!!*

A powerful fiery violet beam came blasting towards her as she barely managed to pull up her wand in time.

"ONID FIILDO!!!" {Hyacinth}

'Oh great another witch is after me. And to top it off it's a spatial witch. Am I going to die here? Oh mother Solace I hope I find haven within your halls.' {Hyacinth}

She stumbled to her feet and pointed her wand into the shadows as she tried to catch sight of her opponent.

From the direction she pointed at, the purple glow of a magic circle illuminated the ghostly face of Christine, burning anger reflecting in her eyes.

"Onid Vasnos." {Christine}

The burning beam of violet light tore up the ground as she dodged out of the way, getting flung by the resulting explosion.

"ONID VINDUS!!!" {Hyacinth}

Ghostly violet chain appeared from holes in space, snaking through the air as they raced towards the slowly advancing Christine, who was only visible from the pale light of her magic circle.

"Onid Fiildo, Onid Vasnos." {Christine}

Several portals appeared around her. Consuming the chains as they attempted to bind her.

The burning blast of the void beam burnt through the last two chains and blew up where Hyacinth once stood, making a scorched smoking hole in the earth.

However the moment Christine stepped forward to check if her opponent had been vaporized, six magic circles appeared around her feet.

"Did you actually believe I was fearful of a novice like you?" {Hyacinth}

"ONID GRAVINC." {Hyacinth}

Several holes in space appeared as they soon began to pull her in all six directions, splaying her out like a starfish.

"AAAHHGGGHHHH!!" {Christine}

She felt like she was being torn apart, agony wracking her as she was stretched in all direction.

The more she tried to resist, the more her meager muscles burned.

*POP!!!*

Her left shoulder was pulled out of her shoulder as she screamed in pain, a now seemingly calm Hyacinth dropping down from a nearby tree, while her thoughts raced about, the only remaining evidence of her fear besides her lower regions.

Christine gasped in agony as she began to lose consciousness, her mind fading away as she realized she had failed again.

She was always failing. Always failing to cast her spells with raven. Failing to help those around her. Always a burden.

She couldn't match up to her master.

And now she couldn't even face this cowardly bitch.

She was a failure of witch.

A failure of a student.

A failure of a-

The image of Astaros asking her to use a void shield flashed to her mind as the agonizing pain of the muscles in her core snapping caused her eyes to open wide. Suddenly her pupil began to expand as it covered her iris and sclera, her veins popping beginning to flow black as inky black horns pierced and began to form on her forehead.

A thin tail began to extended from her rear as it expanded and ended in a thin spear tipped point.

It thrust out of the encirclement and stabbed into Hyacinth's chest as three words were expelled from her mouth.

"ONID HOKOUK VASNOS." {C̸̡̭͈̤̫̗͋́͋̂̀͗͑̓̕̚͝h̴̜̘͓͓̫̮͐̌̀̓̐͜͜r̸͓͊̑̈́͆̾͂͆̓͑͗͘ĩ̴̼̩̭̿̄͊̃͂̌̏͆̕͝ș̵̢͚̗͙̘͐̿͒́͆̓̾̉͜t̴̡͙̯͚͕̥͔̝̣̻̖̣̻̺̲͐̂̚i̷̡̡͙͚̠̳͙̮͉̺̺̭͗́̐n̴̡̡̢̢̞͙̟̣̮̎͝ë̵̢̛̖͎̥̗̤͓͍́͋̎̒͂͗̀̎̌̚͝?̷̢̙͉͍̯͚͈͖̯̐̈̉̑̀̂͠?̵̘͉̺͇̰͎̯̮̲̜̮̦̯̱̇͊͊͌̎̇͋͐͋͌̕ͅ?̷̤͇̫̿̐̀̋̆̅̇͐͘}

Thin black wing frames stabbed from her back, as the surrounding void energy was pulled to form the membrane.

Void energy gathered as in her palm as she reoriented to an upright position, her eyes shifting to Hyacinth who now was standing again, her hand clutching her belly which seeped blood from a paper thin cut.

Tendrils began to slowly protrude from the warbling ball of pure void energy within her palm as she outstretched her hand towards Hyacinth. She attempted to back up but tripped over a tree root, falling over as the first tendril touched her foot.

And all that was left of the point of contact was a clear hole. Her flesh and bone had been sent to the vacuum.

"CHRISTINE STOP!" {???}

A void signature behind her caused the being masquerading as Christine to whirl around, allowing Hyacinth a moment of respite.

A portal which had been formed behind her expelled Raven and Kali.

"A demon?" {Kali}

Raven sighed.

"No, my disciple is just having a small episode right now." {Raven}

Suddenly the being grabbed the side of it's head, the flow of mana which it was receiving through its horns telling it something was very wrong somewhere in the vicinity.

"Christine just calm down, we just nee-" {Raven}

*KRAKOOOOMMMM!!!!*

The rumble of thunder caused her to shriek in pain as Hyacinth got up and began to run.

The being turned to chase down the fleeing witch but the flow of mana near the one that had called her forth turned desperate. She could smell death on the one who had called her forth

"ONID SHATHEN" {C̸̡̭͈̤̫̗͋́͋̂̀͗͑̓̕̚͝h̴̜̘͓͓̫̮͐̌̀̓̐͜͜r̸͓͊̑̈́͆̾͂͆̓͑͗͘ĩ̴̼̩̭̿̄͊̃͂̌̏͆̕͝ș̵̢͚̗͙̘͐̿͒́͆̓̾̉͜t̴̡͙̯͚͕̥͔̝̣̻̖̣̻̺̲͐̂̚i̷̡̡͙͚̠̳͙̮͉̺̺̭͗́̐n̴̡̡̢̢̞͙̟̣̮̎͝ë̵̢̛̖͎̥̗̤͓͍́͋̎̒͂͗̀̎̌̚͝?̷̢̙͉͍̯͚͈͖̯̐̈̉̑̀̂͠?̵̘͉̺͇̰͎̯̮̲̜̮̦̯̱̇͊͊͌̎̇͋͐͋͌̕ͅ?̷̤͇̫̿̐̀̋̆̅̇͐͘}

Raven watched in terror as the being turned blasted off, the space between her and the one who called her forth shortening exponentially.

"Raven go after that witch, I'll chase after your demonic daughter." {Kali}

Kali took off after the speeding Christine leaving behind Raven before she could object.

"That idiot guildmaster, URRGHHH!!" {Raven}

She then turned to see a blood trail, shining in the moonlight before she chose to run off after it.

____________

POV: Astaros

____________

I raised my blade just in time to receive the speeding train wreck of a blow delivered by an enhanced juggernaut, knocking me into one of the glassed craters in a golden flash as he spun out of control, fragments of burnt black glass flying into the air. This was getting out of hand.

The moment I had beaten the first wave Aurora had done a divine blessing to the second, enhancing their speed, strength and practically everything else.

I barely managed to get up as the juggernaut-like man regained his balance, turning to face me.

He then rushed forwards again, aiming to send me flying with a single strike. I angled the Shattered Star and sidestepped the blow, watching the golden juggernaut go careening into the side of the crater. Reaching into the damage core, I pulled out a pale blue crystal in a scarlet flash, a slight mist coming off it's surface. It was a crystallization of Katia's mana that I had once used to create the makeshift freezer in the storage room. And I was going to kill this man with it.

The juggernaut now stood up, no cries of pain coming from within his beaten shell. It was almost eerily silent as we circled each other within the black glass pit.

He made the first move, tearing forwards across the cracked, slick black surface as he swung his mace towards me.

I did not move nor dodge, instead stamping my feet into the glass ground and swinging the shattered star like a baseball bat, knocking the mace out of the way as I shoved the crystal through his armor, the broken shards stabbing into the chest of the man as he began to exhale a foggy haze from his helm.

I shoved him to the floor, watching him freeze over from the inside out, offering my back to the incoming idiot who thought himself slick.

Quickly I swung the Shattered Star around to my back as two pairs of daggers and feet slammed into the large flat blade. I flung the assailant back before whipping around and leaping up, grabbing him by the skull as I came back down and slamming him into the glossy black below. I then tore him up from the jutting glass spikes which had stabbed into his back and swung him into whom I assume to be his backup, the sound of bones shattering echoing through the crater. The second man flew like an ugly bird before smashing into the ground, kicking up a storm of glass shards and particles.

Raising the first mans corpse like a shield I then blocked three more arrows before finally deeming his carcasses tenure complete, flinging him through the glinting, glass filled air into the men firing at me from the ridge.

*FWOOOOOSSSHHH!!!*

A burning wave of fire came flooding into the crater, swirling and crashing into me as the earth rumbled below me.

*BLAM!!*

A jutting stone came slamming up into my gut, bending the armor which protected my core as I was sent flying through the air along with it, exposing my under-suit of black lizardmail.

Flying over the ridge I was sent crashing into the ground as I tumbled and skidded through dirt and patches of glass, my armored clawed fingers digging into the earth to kill my momentum.

When I finally stopped I managed to crawl to my feet, my body wracked with pain as a man with a shield came bashing into me like a bullet sending me skidding across the ground till I hit the ridge of another crater.

I'm done with these bullshit boosted minions.

'Skill Activated Outburst.' {Damage Core}

Raising the Shattered Star high above my head the man with the shield came rushing at me like a bull.

The pulsating blades veins now shone a brilliant scarlet as I brought the sword down on the shield warrior, bending the metal like aluminum as the heavy tower shield nearly split in half. The earth below us nearly giving way was as the shock of the impact drove him shin deep into the glass and dirt.

The moment I lifted the blade's weight from him and tore it from the shield he fell to the ground frothing at the mouth.

Empathic true damage. The skill I imbued into the blade after I gained it alongside divinity manipulation.

He probably felt the same pain that Drake did when I sent it flying in our battle.

As I inspected the broken body of my opponent a dark shadow began to expand above me, three pillars of stone and glass falling from the sky.

'Skill Activated Outburst' {Damage Core}

Raising my hand I caught the first massive stone pillar as the force of the collision drove me back. Raising my other hand I caught the second pillar as the earth beneath me began to crumble towards the pit.

Holding my both bus sized pillars I swung them out and then crashed them together into the oncoming third pillar, killing its momentum and causing it to fall out of the air.

I then walked up and grabbed it by the base and lifted it, my arms working overtime as as the notification blared in the back of mind.

'Skill Activated Outburst' {Damage Core}

Taking the stance of a javelin thrower, my fingers dug into the side of the pillar as I lobbed it, sending it flying over the devastated battlefield and crashing into the final two mages, killing them as a massive plume of glass and ash was sent up into the air.

I was now breathing heavily and my body was reaching what should be its limits. I dropped to one knee as my vision began to swirl.

'Attempting adjustments... recalibrating internal traits… Trait:[Fox Fire] has been deactivated… Searching for suitable solution… Trait:[Elven Stamina] has been activated. Please continue to fight well, Astaros the Destroyer.' {Damage Core}

I smiled as my vision returned and my burning muscles began to cool. As I looked on to search for the enemy, the Damage Core began to blare warnings within my mind.

'Warning: Divinity levels within the vicinity are rising... Divine summoning in progress: 78%... Searching for suitable solution… Solutions unattainable given current damage levels and restrictions… Prepare for combat against Divine Beasts, Astaros the Destroyer.' {Damage Core}

I sighed as two towers of golden light shot up into the sky, a vortex forming in the clouds as the wind began to howl. However a roar broke through the howling wind as a white bear with an array of colored flames flowing off its flanks and hackles came stalking through the cloud of dust and glass across the crater from me.

A unicorn then trotted out beside it, its fur and mane a pure white while its horn was an iridescent gold blade, curved like a scimitar yet barbed like a hook. If that hit me it wasn't going to come out easily.

Both had eyes that reflected those of Aurora, thousands of colours and shades dazzling within them as the stamped the ground impatiently.

Behind them golden glowing warriors came marching behind them, a hundred in total with ten of the tall juggernaut like men backing them up.

'This is getting ridiculous' {Astaros}

I placed the shattered star over my shoulder as I stared down the small army that now stood across the crater from me.

'Chances of survival at full strength?: 100%... Current Chances of survival?: 3- WARNING: DIVINE INCANTATION IN PROGRESS, CHANCE OF SURVIVAL 0%... TIME TO PRAYER COMPELTION?: 3:30sec… Searching for a suitable solution… Solutions: None… Good luck Astaros the Destroyer.' {Damage Core}

I smiled as I stared in the face, my stance spreading out as I prepared to sprint into the plethora of opponents.

If I was going to die, let's do it properly.

I'll exhaust my body, mind and soul with the moons of telos as the only witness to my last night.

'Skill Activated Rampage' {Damage Core}

I pushed off into the crater as the two beast on the other side leaping forwards as well, the earth cracking and shuddering as we clashed midair. Sparks flew as claws and horn clashed and ground against silver metal, the resulting shockwave shattering the glass below and launching it all flying into the air, the deadly glinting black rain shining around me as we landed in the pit. The bear reached me first as I grabbed it by the nose and crushed it, tearing off it's top jaw with my bare hands as it reared up and its howling throat breathed a shower of iridescent flames down upon me. The glorified horse then charged through the glinting glass rain as I raised my vanguard to shirk off the thrusting stab towards my skull, jutting my elbow out into its eye as my fist backhanded the bears windpipe, causing the flames to sputter as it dropped back to all fours, staggering away as the unicorn stamped and flailed in pain.

'Skill Activated Outburst' {Damage Core}

Roaring with anger I swung the Shattered Star with a vengeance, scarlet flames reflecting the dark glass glittering around me. It came slashing into the bear's shoulder, causing it to retreat towards the crater wall as it bellowed, the hot mist of it's breath red with blood as it reared up on its hind legs and cried out to the heavens. I then whirled around to see the Unicorn come charging at me again, its blade like horn lowered to run me through. I sidestepped to the right, ending up on it's blindside as it dashed past me, red flames licking across my fist up to my wrist as I crashed it into the creature's face, tooth and gum flying out of its mouth as it tumbled to the ground. Frothing foam gathering in it's mouth as its tongue lolled out, the pain from an empathic damage charged blow debilitating it and rendering the beast unconscious for a moment. If only one. Dropping the shattered star I reached into my chest and I pulled out an orange flaming crystal as the bear roared at me, its paws shaking the dirt beneath its feet as it dashed through the churning ash, dust and glinting particles of blackened glass, the broken light of the moon peeking through the storm cast into the sky by my unending battle with this nightmare of a woman's forces.

As it neared, it lifted its great paw and swung, blowing all the debris away as I thrust my own fist into the blow, the bones within its paw shattering as they met my silver fist. As it breathed hot bloody mist into my helm I thrust the flaming crystal down its gullet, the howls of pain no longer reaching my ears as its eyes slowly melted from the inside out.

A golden light began to shine behind me as a howl reached my ears. The sound of metal and roaring beasts loudly clashing above now returning me from my rage against the two divine beasts.

That lazy idiot and his brother finally made it.

Val Systin and Lupus finally came.

Leaping up and out of the crater I came crashing down into the fray as grey wolves tore into golden armored knights, flecks of gold and red hot wolf blood flying through the air as I waded into the corpse's, the shattered star cleaving through gold armor like butter as the thundering steps of Val systin crushing opponents underfoot echoed in my ears. The massive black wolf bent the shadows to his will as spikes rose from the shadows of men, betraying and impaling their casters as he overshadowed them, his blue eyes offering no solace as he consumed others.

Lupus howled to the three moons for strength as exhaled hellfire from his mouth, his claws shredding gilded armor with every step, a sea of flames growing in his wake.

'WARNING: 1:00 TO INCANTATION COMPLETION' {Damage Core}

I shook off the effects of rampage as I looked up to Aurora who hovered above the bloodbath. The whispers of prayer barely reaching my ears as I began to sprint through the raging battlefield.

She needs to die right now.

The sounds of my heavy steps never seemed to reach my ears as I took one after the other, lives disappearing from around me as the Shattered Star shone in the light of the three brilliantly shining moons.

Scarlet flames came pulsing from the blade as I tore through my opponents. I could hear it now, the words which caused my rage to intensify as the flames now roared with me, my giant frame churning the earth with every step.

"I seek the power of those who watch from above and below," {Aurora}

The Shattered star slew three swordsmen in a single swipe, the blade burning with my own anger and fears.

"The light which scorched earth and boiled sea's,"

An unwise giant stepped in front of me, the marks of my brethren marring his armor. He swung at me as I simply blocked with the Shattered Star and kept running, smashing into him, the impact of my drive lifting him off his feet as I hurled him to the side.

"Under their watchful eye do I channel the breath of the divine age long past," {Aurora}

"NOT A CHANCE YOU ABOMINATION!" {Astaros}

'Skills Activated: Divinity Manipulation, Outburst and Destructive Force' {Damage Core}

My muscles screamed as my foot hit the ground, launching me forwards as I kicked up dust and swirling dirt like a shell from a cannon, the Shattered Star swinging out as I prepared to cut Aurora in half while the burning scarlet flames shone against silver metal as my eyes began to glow with a hollow silver light.

"I seek not salvation nor blessing but only the annihilation of my enemies," {Aurora}

*CRAK!!!*

The Shattered Star crashed into the divine aura that surrounded Aurora, cutting into it while golden fragments of gilded aura that shattered against me fractured and cracked against my armor as they were blown away from the force of the blow. However even as her eyes shuddered with the pain of the the true damage, even though my blade had broken through the divine field, the final words managed to pierce the night sky as crackling lightning gathered around her palms.

"Divine Punishment, Golden Lightning" {Aurora}

*KRAKKKOOOOOOMMMMM!!!*

REFLEXIONES DE LOS CREADORES
Blue_Robin Blue_Robin

Astaros is a character I always wanted to write, not afraid to get his hands dirty, but also not an uncaring monster. He will rip and tear his enemies without mercy when pushed to his limits though. If you pushed his buttons and died it's your fault for being killable.
