“I’ll try.” Philip rubbed his hands over his face. “Have you been in that position where someone you cared about betrayed you?”

There were hurrying footsteps and Philip looked up to see Aiden coming back into the room, carrying a long, slim box wrapped in the same garish paper Aiden had used to cover all of the presents they had opened earlier in the day.
