That should have been a sign of things to come if his ex couldn’t cope with teasing over something innocent.

Philip leaned against the back of the couch and yawned, rubbing his hands over his face.

“I don’t feel like being in a Christmas mood, if I’m honest. Not after what happened.”

“You will be once Aiden gets going. It’s infectious.” Michael folded his arms and glanced toward the door. “His dad always made sure Christmas was magical before his parents started going psycho. Aiden’s just caught the bug, so to speak.”

“Even at his age?”

“You can never be too old for Christmas.”

Philip grunted. He didn’t know about that. With his job, holidays and special occasions just got lost in the regular day-to-day business. He only knew about it when he got paid double for working a holiday. Philip had even forgotten his own birthday because he was so focused with work.

Maybe he should do something about that.
