Capítulo 52: Chapter 52

In the driveway Howard reached for his wipes before leaving the car. Outside of his home, he slipped off his shoes, silently praying that some crazed raccoon would take them off into the night, but knowing that they would probably be there to face in the morning. He wiped his phone and keys one more time with the disinfecting wipes before he entered the house.

“You’re barefoot,” Jason said, walking up to him and planting a kiss on his cheek. “Where’s your jumper? I can wash it for you.”

“I left it at work. In a trash bag. My shoes need to be burned, but I’m too tired to do that right now. Something smells delicious, which is not a smell I have encountered today.”

“Tacos,” Jason said, smiling. “I made them myself. Why don’t you get a shower while I get our food ready?”

“Okay,” Howard agreed.
