Ran stared at his phone in bemusement. The call had come at the worst possible time, and he’d had to step out of his father’s room to take it.

What the hell was that all about? He ran a hand through his hair and offered a silent apology to his lover. For a second, when Nelson had told him about Parrish’s “affair,” Ran had thought his lover had already gone back on his agreement to be monogamous, and the pain that had torn through his heart had been unexpected.

The pain had vanished quickly, though, once Nelson had finished talking. Ran chuckled softly. Hewas the one who’d been in his private suite with Parrish.

“Ran?” Alex joined him down the hall from their father’s room. “Is everything okay?”

“Yes.” Nelson had actually done him a huge favor, showing him he could trust Parrish.
