“I’m just not making any bets. There’s a lot that could go wrong. I don’t wanna think about the easy stuff. I just want to accomplish our goals.” Kill people, take anything of value, and hopefully save Dakota.
“I can understand that,” Yuuki relented, choosing to drop the subject.
Kenna opened her door and got out stiffly. Living on the road had become more or less commonplace, but sleeping in her truck made her feel like an old woman with bad joints and an aching body. Especially several days of it. She missed having a real bed. “Let’s get ready. We need to be back on the road as soon as possible.”
Yuuki wisely followed her direction, leading the way to a relatively under-populated restroom where they could clean up and change their clothes. Splashing her face with water, Ken wondered what day of the week it was. She honestly couldn’t remember.
