“Hey, Dave.”
“Hmm, you don’t sound excited.”
Keenan heaved out a loud sigh. “I’m fine. What’s going on, man?”
“Nothing. Just checking in to make sure you’re okay.”
Keenan rolled his eyes even though David wouldn’t be able to see that. “You’re a busybody.”
“I object. I’m a concerned best friend who’s making sure you’re all right after your amazing date with the man of all your erotic, wet dreams.”
Keenan scoffed, feeling rather annoyed now. “It wasn’t a date. It was just…just two people hanging out.”
“Right. Keep lying to yourself.”
Keenan gritted his teeth while ignoring the fact that his heart was beating a little harder and faster as he thought about Pablo. “Whatever. Is there anything else? I’m still inside the car. It’s not safe for me to talk to you over the phone right now.”
“Nope. I’ll grill you for the details tomorrow during lunch hour instead. Later, dude.”
“Bye,” Keenan said before disconnecting the call.
