“You haven’t told me exactly how frightening the spirit was earlier today.”

Endymion chortled. “You will never let it go, will you?”

“Nope.”

Endymion shook his head. “The spirit had a death grip on Walter. The more I exerted my magic to drag him out from the boy, the tighter its hold would become.”

“Shit…”

Endymion shuddered at the memory. “I was furious. No, I was livid at that damn spirit. Walter must be in such severe pain as I fought to pull that spirit out.”

“Did…did he bleed out anywhere?”

Endymion shut his eyes for a second or two. “No, but his scream was heartbreaking to listen to. Walter isn’t even five years old. I hate subjecting children to exorcism. I’ll be all right magic-wise, but I’m always emotionally drained after such a session.”

“I bet. Anyway, let’s talk about something else. What do you think about Darwin and Kellan?”

Endymion could feel the blood rushing up his neck and cheeks immediately. “They…they’re cool.”
