Armand left, and Alexei took his place next to Sean. Alexei, who had stood at the entrance to the room for the entire exchange led his friend to a chair.

Armand grabbed an orderly on his way out. “Get Alpha Daurensbourg some coffee.”

Donal approached his Mate. “Etienne is immovable. Dr. Artis told him to go home, yet he’s insisting on staying. He’s pacing like a caged lion. He’s a wreck. I don’t know what to do.”

Alexei stroked Donal’s shoulder. “There is nothing you can do, mouse. If it were you, I wouldn’t leave either. I never left you the entire time you spent going through detox. I can’t expect any less from Etienne.”

Julio opened his eyes again, and Etienne rushed to the bed. “I hurt so badly. I didn’t do anything to him. I was nice even when he was crazy. Why did he do this?”
