Although he wanted to be stubborn and power through, he knew the consequences could become dire if he wasn't careful. Since he also knew that his talent regarding the soul was pretty good, he wasn't in a hurry.

Since he had around a hundred years of natural life in the mortal realms, Raymond felt like living until he was 70 or 80 would be pretty realistic.
