Capítulo 41: Fishing from troubled waters

[You killed Elite Black Weaver Spider]

[You gained 20 IDLE Points]

'Great!' Aldrin exclaimed upon seeing how his arrows accurately hit the spider in one of its many eyes.

Truthfully, he only stole a kill from a group of ants that knocked it down, placing down that shot just before they deliver a killing strike.

Luckily for him, it succeeded!

It succeeded, however... He was spotted by the Elite Soldier Ants that followed the arrow's trajectory.

"Screech!" they screamed and without delay, they angrily crawled towards Aldrin's direction.

Upon seeing that, Aldrin smirked as he met the Elite Soldier Ants' gaze. While putting on a mocking expression, he disappeared behind an area with tall grasses and other plants that were simply gigantic.

"Oh? Come here then and get your meal..."

This was his strategy for the past 30 minutes. In that short time, he had already earned 600 points. Or 400 in profits for this run. And he's not stopping anytime soon.

Fishing in troubled waters and baiting the confused fishes by acting as if he's scared, slowly but surely bulked up Aldrin's gathered IDLE Points.

No matter how chaotic this battlefield became. The focus was between the champions of the two camps slugging it out against each other with a totally incredible show of power.

That's why even though it was inevitable to be noticed when he's stealing the kills from either the ants or the spiders, those nearby were the only ones who could notice him, giving him ample chance to use the situation in his favor.

"Stop screeching and just hurry up. I prepared something for you." Aldrin once more provoked the Elite Soldier Ants to approach him. At the same time as that, he kept on retreating behind the tall grasses as he hurriedly switched out his and his clones' weapons.

And while doing so, Aldrin started lamenting about having a preset feature. That way, he wouldn't need to spend a few seconds switching it.

"There's still a lot to be unlocked so it's probably in here somewhere. I just need to find a way to unlock it."

As soon as the baited Elite Soldier Ants entered his designated ambush point, Tank dropped from above, smashing its wooden shield on the ground, creating a small-scale earthquake only enough to make the 6 Elite Soldier Ants wobble in their legs.

And while they're trying to correct their balance, Tank smashed its stone hammer to the two Elite Soldier Ants' heads.

Because these ants were different from just ordinary Soldier Ants, one managed to block and thrust its glistening spear forward, piercing through Tank's wooden shield.

Upon seeing that, Aldrin who already accounted for that possible occurrence immediately sent a mental order to Hitter that was hidden behind Tank while he hid in a position where he could jump out at any moment.

As soon as his order was sent, Hitter immediately jumped out of its hiding place and swiftly pulled the strings of its bow thrice, all aimed at the Elite Soldier Ant trying to stab through Tank's shield.

Fwoooosh!

As its arrows whistled through the air, homing straight towards that one particular Elite Soldier Ant, Hitter pulled out its sword and charged forward.

A split second after its arrows forced the Elite Soldier Ant to retreat, Hitter's sword mercilessly stabbed the ant, insect juices spilling out of its body.

Following that, Aldrin also jumped out from where he hid, homing in towards the other four confused Elite Soldier Ants.

From his shadow, a clone rose, wielding the sword he bought through Idle Shopping.

Like him, it zoomed in and brandished the sword against the Elite Soldier Ants.

One. Two. Three.

One sword, two sabers instantly brought down the number of ants from six to three.

Moreover, two were incapacitated and the last one standing couldn't do anything but screech angrily.

Unfortunately, that's all it could do. Not wasting any time at all, Hitter continuously stabbed the Elite Soldier Ant with its sword while Tank was deflecting its desperate attacks. The Shadow Clone then went to the stunned Ant in front of the two and diced it before it could recover. And lastly, Aldrin played against the screeching Elite Soldier Ant, hacking away its limbs one by one before using its own spear to impale it from the ground.

As those six status logs concerning his IDLE Points gain, Aldrin smilingly watched as 60 points were added to his total.

"That's 80 points in less than 3 minutes. It's a great thing that I chose to manually control this time."

Finding out that it might be possible to use his Concept in this Lower Dimension, Aldrin tried it earlier and was met with success.

Due to that, he began using it as additional manpower during these ambushes.

What he's unclear about was if the Energy Quintessence and refined energy he could feel and use was from his real body that was unconscious in front of his PC.

As time passed, Aldrin continued with his strategy. Before he knew it, the Ants and Spiders at that side of the battlefield began to dwindle.

Due to that, he circled to the other side and resumed his antics all the while making sure not to be noticed by the ant and spider champions.

Nonetheless, it wasn't that easy for him whenever a Commander Ant or the equivalent of it from the spider's side would notice him.

Those two would be sending more ants and spiders than he could handle.

And at one point, Aldrin had to use the complete Basic Refiner Battlesuit to escape from an encirclement when he was grabbed by a winged ant and dropped right in the middle of an encirclement.

The Battlesuit in his opinion was truly an equipment befitting of an Energy Refiner. It steeply raised not only his strength and defense but also his mobility at the expense of refined Energy. Moreover, it was stacked with the Dimensional Clone's permanent equips, making him appear like a super-soldier in the long-lost movies of the ancient era.

Thanks to that, Elite Soldier Ants that managed to use that opportunity to stab him found their attacks impeded by the suit, giving him the chance to get out of their encirclement and assassinate the Commander Ant directing them before going back to where he came from.

That occurrence actually raised his notoriety among the Ants that the champions of both sides sent a detached force chase after him and away from the free and easy kills he was having before.

Nonetheless, he also made use of that opportunity to earn more by picking those chasing spiders and ants one by one.

By the time he finished off the last Commander Ant using the gun he only pulled at the last minute, he found himself alone and missing two limbs. One arm and one leg.

"Even if I heal myself, I don't think I can go on anymore... This feeling of losing limbs is..." Aldrin's weakened voice trailed as he observed himself, lying down with the bright sky filling his vision. "... terrifying."

Before he completely lost his consciousness, Aldrin opened his Spatial Pocket and returned his sword, gun and the set of Basic Refiner Battlesuit inside.

And while staring at his earned IDLE Points during this run, a wide smile replaced his pained expression before prompting the 'Leave the Dimension' option.
