The soldiers don't have any reason to pretend they find us amusing. They genuinely do.

They watch over Ignis and me, some with curious glances and some with affection as if they were looking at their children in love.

Ignis's head is on my shoulder, and he sips his wine slowly and carefully. He noticed he's dead drunk, so he slowed down.

He will be able to sleep tonight, won't he? I hope so. I can stay a few hours more than planned to make sure he rests, but I'll need to depart tomorrow at the latest. I'm also missing Lars.

«How does it work now?» I wonder. «How long does it take for the army to return home after winning a war?»

«It was only a battle, your Majesty. Borea did surrender, but we can't know if they'll make peace until they send a messenger.»

«Will it come tomorrow?»
