Capítulo 202: Preparing for negotiations (1)

I wake up in the morning. The shouting from outside reminds me that I'm in a military camp, surrounded by noisy soldiers and winds of war.

Also, somewhere nearby, there must be my husband. Who's wounded and yesterday was fairly tipsy.

«Ignis,» I whisper, turning in bed and looking for him. Nothing: I'm alone in the tent.

I get up and collect my mantle, wrapping my body in it to protect my shoulders from the morning air. I wanted to do many wicked things to my King, but I fell asleep. I was so tired as to literally collapse.

Riding without rest is too much stress for my body, and I won't be able to do wicked things tonight either. I'll be lucky if I manage to sit normally.

Outside, the chaos is real. It's even worse than during the night.

«Veronica,» I hear, and I instinctively turn towards his voice. «You should sleep more. You arrived here late, and the negotiations will be tiring as well. Sleep a little more.»
