INITIAL THOUGHTS: -As someone who has read over 2000 chapters of "Reaper of the Martial World" and also reading "Dimensional Descent" I am both biased towards seeing him in a good light and judging him harshly for what I don't like. With that being said I hope my review helps those who are on the fence about wanting to read this novel or not. WRITING QUALITY: 5/5 -Having 2 other books being written he has got the writing quality down. It's on the same level if not better some of my favorite long-standing authors like "Cocooned Cow-True Martial World" and "Jing Wu Hen-Ancient Godly Monarch". Anyone who has been in this space for at least a couple of years has seen the influx of new authors causing quality to become sporadic like a heart rate monitor. Be at ease with this novel. STABILITY OF UPDATES: 5/5 -Despite writing 3 books at once he has kept it consist which is what want we want most from our authors. This is assuming quality doesn't diminish which I stated before hasn't. STORY DEVELOPMENT: 5/5 -Epic would be the shart answer yet I know you guys want to know why? Well based on the synopsis you can see the MC is starting off at the pinnacle of the Cultivation world which begs the question if you cant go up does that mean you go down? In this case yes you do. The very bottom at that. -Now here's where it can be a make it or break it for some readers. The 1st volume which sets the stage for the story is 30 odd chapters which can in some people's eyes be too much. Also, he doesn't exactly begin cultivating at the start of the second novel which can lead to some more people dropping off. So I ask readers to stay for at least 60 chapters before writing this book off as "boring" or other such nonsense. Great works are not made without a foundation that can handle the immensity of the task at hand. -By the end of the second novel and the beginning of the third where I'm at you see the foundation is really fleshed out. Much mystery is still there of course however you have enough to chew on keeping you wanting to devour this masterpiece some more! -Overall If you want quality story development then give at least read up to 60-80 chapters. You won't regret it CHARACTER DESIGN: 5/5 -This is what I believe the author has gotten the handle of. I might not agree with his choices of character development, but that doesn't take away from the quality I read before my eyes. -The MC within the first volume starts off with many great qualities and some obvious flaws as well which leaves room for development. He has the best cultivation foundation one can ask for yet that is handicapped (temporarily) by one core aspect which would make it truly perfect. To compensate he delved into several side passions which is a pro. This however left his cultivation knowledge stunted which we see later on in volume 2. -The MC in the 2nd volume is becoming more aware of the flaws he has because of his overall circumstances. This leaves room for the MC to develop which is a plus. -The MC at the beginning of the 3fd novel is introduced to someone very important who for his own good ruthlessly shows him his glaring flaws and is someone who despite being born in the best clan actually in many ways is still immature and naive to the ways of the world. Who despite learning so much actually knows so little still. Hopefully, his coldness will be warmed to a degree by the recent edition of someone who shares a life with him now. It's been noted he was once warmer yet due to hardships he got colder and harder. Now if he could rediscover that warmth while keeping the cold that would be fantastic! -Other than the MC's his family is well developed and others close to him as well. After volume 1 we have yet to see many characters stay with the MC. Only one for now if any more at all will join considering his cold personality. WORLD BACKGROUND: 5/5 -Very detailed throughout so far without needlessly dumping info on you. This for many authors is a challenge. How much is too much info? How much does the situation call upon to explain the situation in clarity while leaving some mystery? This author has it down once again. OVERALL: 5/5 Read it or regret it. Let that sink in!!

I love this author. All his cultivation books are well thought out and have such cool and unique concepts to cultivation. Cultivation novels usually have an element of repetition, but not here. He refreshes us with new paths of cultivation and adds unique elements to make it more refreshing.

Trying this after read GA. Kinda disappointed to read this. Everything okay before his rebirth, after his rebirth its basically typical Chinese cultivation novel. Typical arrogant MC and pretend to be smart when outsmart typical low IQ enemies. Plus paragraphs of spectators comments take half of the chapter. Some say it got better in the later chapter... nah ty.

Just had to drop at 915 (might pick up again later but who knows). I really liked Rebirth of the Namless Immortal God (or Reaper of the Martial World) but this is just too different. At least in the other ones he has people to rely on (like his wives and subordinates). However, this one is too much of a lone wolf for me to handle. Might as well not even have any characters with names at this point. The only one that really matters and has any degree of worth is the Main Character Ryu. Other than him no one else seems to matter (or at least not much). Even his wives don’t seem to matter anymore. They barley get any speaking roles anymore and just sit there doing absolutely nothing. And then when 2 of them wanted to do something, they were just sidelined almost the next chapter. For instance, Ailsa was talking about how useless she has become and now wants to take an active role in fighting. Great. However what happens next? Even though her cultication was stronger than Ryu, she did almost nothing and then she was sealed till who knows how long. Then there is Yaana who said that she wanted to keep up with him. Then she is completely side lined and didn’t even have any speaking roles (besides maybe some one liners I don’t remember). As for everyone else? Even his enemies, they matter even less (besides being very numerour, powerful, and the fact they destroyed his clan). I guess the only ones that kinda matter are his father-in-law and grandmother-in-law (who barely meant much after he died in the begining), but even his father-in-law only appeared once and was only hyped up a bunch before that. As for anyone else? Maybe, just maybe Sariel matters kinda but I bet we won’t even get a wiff of her for hundreds of chapters at a time. Come on, give my guy some friends. Or at least a wife that does literally anything besides talking (and only like every dozen chapters). Give me someone that can kind of keep up with him. Even if it’s another wife. I’m just so tired of him having to do everything by himself. Because that just means all we’re getting in this novel is a bunch of monologues and maybe one off character dialogs. At least in Nameless Immortal God, there were his wives and subordinates that kinda kept of with the guy and became uselful in some situtations.

This is my most favourite book. The power system, world building, story lines, and characters growth are all excellent. MC's character development is gold. Unlike others' timid MC became ruthless after experiencing betrayals and humiliation, Ryu started as a ruthless, arrogant and level headed man but he found himself immature in his journey to the peak. He first believed he was weaker than old monsters because they had more time than him and given time they will naturally become his stepping stone. However, through his adventure, he found out that there are those time alone can't surpass them. And he became to show respect to them. His ruthlessness became a bit lower (feeling sympathy to strangers which earlier him clearly didn't have). Overall, his change in personality is eye-opener whereas a lot of MCs' final characters development is becoming ruthless, arrogant and started to use brain.

It's a nicely written book. MC is rather arrogant but, he's got the balls to back his arrogance. He's not your regular "you dare" Young master, this one actually has power to go through with the threat.

OK for real review read 250+ chapters you can skip the first eight chapters it’s complete trash. It’s just a whole bunch of torture as for the main character. It’s not good at all at about 100-ish starts getting better has some true development you know Hunter plus you start seeing development of the character some actual progress, some good side, character development. He has companion and then goes down the hill again it’s all about mass really so, if you’re not into that, don’t waste your time

I really liked this novel a lot but now the MC is just being 'crippled and becomes powerful' repeatedly. I think the author likes to torture the MC so much and with the MC's arrogance and stupidity without the plot armor he would be dead so many times. Not to mention the MC dislikes using brain even though he is weak with only intelligent to back it up as a strong point in most of the story.

This review is being written with the latest chapter being 1320 for non-privilaged readers. I really love this series. The world's are well built, The cultivation system is easy to understand, and not hard at all to follow. the only reason it's not a perfect 5 stars is because i feel like things are moving a bit too fast, but that may just be because I've read this whole thing at a pace of like 50-60 chapters a day. The main character is a well built character who has a severe personality change (in a good way), and the side characters are also well built, with lots of improvement in their personalities as well with more to come. I am not very good at writing, so please excuse me if this review isnt very good.

Overall this is a fantastic book. The author really develops the main charcter, Ryu quite well where you feel the passion that Ryu feels in each encounter. Awespec did such a good job with this one I ended up reading Dimensional decent to find out if this book was just awspecs best or if he's a great author on other works too and he is. Both GAB and DD will leave you waiting for more to be released with anticipation. I recommend reading about Ryu's adventures to everyone.

Awesome writing. The world background is amazingly complex and I really like the cultivation system. However, while I like the character and I appreciate the story, to me Ryu is stagnating in his character development. His arrogance does not entirely befit his strength and while it was refreshing at the beginning of the story, now it seems kind of stupid, as he keeps on getting in situations he cannot always respond to or handle well. The story development is stalling a bit alongside them and I would love to see some growth in Ryu's character, just like when Ailsa changed some of his views on the world.

AUTHOR-SAN what would it take for a mass release of like 20-30 chapters?!?! This book is by far my favorite; everything is stable and goes together, the filler chapters still have a verging degree of info that is helpful later on, and character’s development compared with the world development is relatively equal in both. He’s doesn’t gain too much too fast and has to continue to reach the pinnacle as he’s not even close while hinting at a possible wider world again. Fantastic writing.

He’s doesn’t gain too much too fast and has to continue to reach the pinnacle as he’s not even close while hinting at a possible wider world again. Fantastic writing.
