After Jason and Jin-Woo finished with everything, they exited the gate.
Jason quickly supported Jin-Woo as they walked out of the gate because of how fatigued he was.
"Chief Woo, please tell President that I am going out for a personal matter." Jason turned to Woo Jin-Chul and said seriously before he escorted Jin-Woo to the car, advising him to change his clothes before returning home to not worry his mom.
He raised his head and looked at the sky, muttering.
"Exchange!"
In Shinjuku District, Tokyo
A massive magic circle was drawn within Tokyo's Shinjuku district. Its scale was truly enormous; completely unprecedented in history.
All the residents within the area had been evacuated by now. Only the most powerful hunters of Japan remained in the location to inspect the gate, ready to deal with anything that would jump out of it.
The Japanese representatives quietly watched the group of hunters inspecting the barrier, not even daring to swallow their saliva. Every single word the hunters said, every little action they took, all of them were under close scrutiny.
"Vice-Master, the formation is perfect. There is no need to worry at all."
One of the hunters walked over to two young men standing in front of the gate, addressing them.
Long Sha glanced at him and nodded his head. "Good job."
Sending the hunter away, he spoke to Duan Jian. "Now, we just have to wait as instructed by our Master."
"Yes." Duan Jian nodded his head, staring at the gate.
At this moment, both of them felt a presence approaching them. Turning around, they saw a young woman in her twenties. She had long black hair tied in pigtails, blood-red eyes, purple lipstick, and black fingernails. She also has a very toned physique along with numerous black tattoos that cover her arms and the upper left half of her chest. She was dressed in a loose dark pink jacket that showed her midriff, black armored boots, and black baggy pants, with two katanas hanging from the left side of her waist.
"Vice-Master, are you sure the Guild Master will arrive in time?" Kanae asked with a serious expression.
Long Sha smiled and replied. "Don't worry, Hunter Kanae. He will come for sure. If not for Guild Master's instructions, we're planning to go inside the gate when it appears. So, you can relax."
Kanae shook her head. "I'm not worried about myself. I'm already aware of the risk involved when I become the hunter."
Glancing behind at the sea of reporters and soldiers, she continued. "I'm more worried about the lives of millions of Japanese people standing behind me."
The entire place turned silent for a moment aside from the eerie atmosphere before Duan Jian turned around and patted her head.
"It's no wonder Guild Master takes you in high regard asking us to train you ourselves. But no need to worry, as long as Guild Master and we are here, not a single person will lose his life."
Kanae blushed slightly, nodding her head before she retreated to her original spot.
"H-How is it, Hunter Kanae?" Matsumoto Shigeo, the President of the Japanese Hunter's Association asked her with a very polite smile, even bowing a little.
Kanae's happy expression crumbled instantly staring at his face.
It seemed there was some sort of history between them.
Sighing heavily, she said with an annoyed face. "Guild Master will be here soon."
"R-Really? Thank God! Japan will be saved." Matsumoto Shigeo clapped his hand and looked at the sky with a relieved expression.
Kanae looked extremely disgusted, walking away.
The reporters from all over the world descended on Japan.
If there was one thing in particular about that, then it was that most of those reporters were war correspondents used to covering various conflicts happening across the globe.
This was as good a proof as any that the event about to unfold here was as dangerous as an actual war.
The security cordon built around the Gate was incredibly heavy. Reporters raised their cameras and pointed towards the building-sized Gate and the barrier formation drawn around it, as well as the army of men and women surrounding them both.
One of Matsumoto Shigeo's attendants looked at his watch and whispered to him.
"Sir, it's three minutes before the dungeon break."
"I see."
Matsumoto Shigeo nodded his head. Countless thoughts swirled within his gaze now taking in the sight of the massive Gate.
Two minutes, one minute, 59 seconds, 58…..
Time, filled with taut tension, ticked down seemingly at the rate of knots. And soon enough, the black 'wall' covering the giant Gate's surface began to get blurry.
The reporters all cried out in unison.
"Uh, uh?!"
"Hey, the Gate's opening up!!"
"They… they are coming out!"
*Boom!*
But the next moment, all of the reporters and soldiers were left stunned, shivering in their spots, watching the monsters stepping out of the dungeon.
The monsters were humanoid in shape but the sheer size of those beings was taller than a ten-story building.
"G-Giants!"
"They are Giants!"
People began to cry out, trembling from fear.
Even a few hunters broke out in sweat, shivering, staring at the monsters.
"The bosses that appeared in upper A-grade dungeons are coming out right now?!"
Three mages at the front raised their hands and chanted spells which caused the mana to gather around the gate and solidify into a transparent wall, blocking the path of the giants.
A giant at the front raised his sword and swung it down, hitting the barrier with all its strength.
*Clang*
It caused a loud noise to generate which caused many people to cover their ears but the transparent wall didn't show any sign of movement, let alone a crack.
The hunters took a sigh of relief.
Not only them but everyone else also cheered happily.
Long Sha and Duan Jian were standing at the very front when suddenly their eyes moved. Long Sha shouted. "Mages, step back!"
The mages maintaining the spell turned to them with confused expressions, wondering why the Vice-Masters were acting like that.
But it didn't take long for them to get their answers when a massive hand, even larger than the head of the giants appeared from the gate.
It grabbed the head of that giant, pushing it aside and slamming the powerful monster into the ground like it was nothing.
What followed was nothing less than a nightmare!
A massive giant ten times larger than the giants that poured out of the gate stepped out, staring at humans with an extremely manacing expression. He was covered in ornaments made out of bones, looking very scary.
