Capítulo 23: The Defender's Assemble!... and Prelude to a War!
Spending some time with Black Cat, I decided to make my way to Hell kitchen. Just a minute after entering, and I can already hear noises. Sounds like blades clashing. Is it hand? I decided to go there and saw Colleen fight Bokuto while DD was fighting another girl, probably Elektra. Iron fist was keeping the ninjas away. What I found confusing was Jessica attack Luke while crying. But the confusion went away when I saw a man in purple suit standing behind them smiling. Killgrave. It made sense now.
I snaked up behind him and said "You seem to be enjoying the show." He flinched and looked behind only to get punched in the face, knocking him out. This disabled his control over Jessica making her fall, but got caught by Luke, who was in a bad shape. I wanted to kill him but Jessica deserves revenge more. He fell with a thud including the people around who were in his control stopping everyone to look at me. I still wondered how hand got in touch with Killgrave. Maybe to use the defender's against me?
Seeing me standing over Killgrave drained the life out of Bokuto's face, giving enough time to Colleen to slash the katana off him and pin him down. Daredevil had the same idea and knocked Electra out. I walked towards Bokuto, who tried to fight Colleen to run, but failed, giving me enough time to put a gravity collar on his neck. This increases the gravity on a wearer's body evenly, and the sudden increase made him fall, and he failed to even lift a finger.
"Keep an eye on him." I said to Colleen taking out my Wolf claws and rushed towards the ninjas with Iron fist and Daredevil. These guys turn into dust when killed, the reason I call them mummies. I really hate the five fingers for this. After killing them all, we made our way back to Bokuto, who was VERY scared right now, His face covered in tears and snot. Take their immortality, and they become cry-babies.
"Please, please don't kill me. I will tell you everything, my bank accounts, treasure locations, even the other three's location , just don't kill me. Colleen, I'm sorry for everything I have done, but I treated you like my daughter, please stop him, he'll kill me." Everyone just looked at him in disgust when he said that. Colleen's eyes were burning with anger, gritting her teeth.
Iron Fist looked at me and said " I heard you have a way to permanently kill them, is that true?"
I nodded looking at him, then looked towards Colleen, I knew she hated this man to the bone. She saw me looking towards her and said "Do it, I just want to see him die."
Hearing her he started the same riches and stuff again but I cut in "I know all your accounts, bases and other fingers location already. There is nothing you can give me." After that I took out dark moon surprising the other's and stabbed him.
"REPENT", I said igniting the blade in hellfire. He screamed in pain of every list crime he had committed, while we watched him with no remorse. I have already sound-proofed the place. After he burned to ashes, Colleen broke out in Danny's arms. He really messed up her life. I went towards Killgrave and dragged him in front of Jessica. I also took his blood sample secretly. Might be useful in creating an antidote for mind-control maybe. She knew why I dragged him, but had fear as well, and said, "I want to beat that bastard down, but he will try to control me again." She explained.
"Not if I do this" I said putting a collar on his neck. "This was an bio-electric field generator. It will prevent his voice and pheromones from leaking out, so no mind-control shenanigans. Go wild!" I told her and slapped Killgrave waking him up. The agents and other girls he had controlled have woken up as well, and were looking at him in disgust. I nodded at them to join in as well.
When he woke up, he looked horrified seeing us surround him, but suddenly smiled and started to speak, but soon noticed nothing happened. He realized he couldn't speak. As soon as the revelation hit him, so did Jessica's punch. All the other girls picked up weapons as well and started torturing him till he was barely alive, and then broke out. I made sure they don't remember me using hellfire, which I did to make him scream in pain, disintegrating him out of existence.
I gave everyone a potion I had, and told them it would help in healing. I looked towards the Shield agent's and talked about contacting Shield and get other traumatized one's to safety, to which they agreed.
The Defender's and me made our way to the next alley, when Daredevil spoke up," Thanks for the help,... with everything." and other's nodded at his words. "Don't be, this is my job", I said with a soft voice, unlike my snarky one I always use. Then I looked towards Danny and said " Two of the remaining fingers are in Westchester right now, and will probably soon escape, you coming?" I asked him, but everyone agreed surprising me.
"We are a team, so we do this together." Luke said with a resolve, getting the other's nod. Wind started flowing around and a jet decloaked and landed outside the alley shocking everyone, "Then let's go" I said, walking to the jet, followed by other's.
*Sometime later*
They really were escaping, seems like a finger knows when the other dies. Coming to me was a stupid decision either way. I destroyed Murakami and Sowande as well. Working with a team really makes things a lot easier. Unfortunately, Alexandra managed to escape, but I was still tracking her ring's frequency. I wonder what she will do now?
After that I dropped them on a roof in Hell's Kitchen. "So what's the plan now?"
"I still have to go after Kingpin" Matt said. Luke and Jessica agreed to help him out. Danny had to contact K'un-lun to tell them of the four deaths. He will stay behind with Colleen to get his company going on the right track, then agreed to help Matt out.
"So how about we make a team?"
"""""A team?"""""", they asked in unison.
"Yes, I have been doing this for two years, and having more hands always helps. The Spiders have been taking care of Brooklyn and Queens, while I mostly take care of Bronx, and upper Manhattan(Harlem), while Hell's Kitchen was mostly handled by Daredevil, but now the gangs are playing smart, so I have need to have as many hands as possible." I explained making them ponder, "But now we need to rest, I will talk about this next week, would that be fine?" I asked. They agreed and we split up. Matt asked me if I could help him remove brainwashing on Elektra, which I was surprised to find. I gave him the potion, while secretly using telepathy to restore her mind.
The hand was mostly destroyed now, so some local gangs were left. Kingpin's on DD's list. I will leave Hammerhead and Tombstone to Spider's. I am going to investigate the other major crime families for now. But Oracle informed me of a mistake I had made. I had asked her to keep tabs on William Baker, to know when he would become Sandman and recruit him. Turns out he stumbled upon the experiment when I burned Bokuto down, but now he had disappeared. Even his online data and ID disappeared. Either this was Shield, or Hydra. I should have placed a clone.....*sigh* I really messed up, and this is definitely gonna haunt me for a while.
*Next Day*
The 'New York Spider's' are on a rise. It was the same as when I became Enigma. Flash was now a big fan of Spiderman and Arachnid, while Kitty adored Silk and Ghost Spider. MJ and Gwen had conflicted faces seeing her. Peter and Miles were dragged to the Spider-boys fan club by Flash and had the same smile. Meanwhile I was snickering at them with Jean and Wanda. Laura just had a smile. Felecia seemed to be in a daze the whole time.
Harry was confused by Gwen's reaction but said nothing. He had gotten her an internship under Connors and they were both getting along well, but it seems her spider business cut their time together. An Oscorp compound making super-serum got raided early morning, when no vigilantes are around and many serums went missing. Oracle is tracing them, but couldn't find any solid leads. They hid their tracks well, in fact too well.
It wasn't hydra considering they could just get it from the spies in Oscorp or military. Then who? Stryker? I asked Oracle to compile possible suspects. Looks like I will have to give Defender's their upgrades sooner than I had planned. Norman has completely lost it because of the attack, and is forcing the serum completion. Things are really not looking good.
The school went well, when I reached home Oracle said, "Alex I have compiled the list. The most probable suspects are William Stryker, Nathaniel Essex, and finally, and most probably, Wilson Fisk."
"Fisk, why would you think so?" I asked.
"Think about it. His recent defeats by your hand have pushed him back a lot. And now the no. of vigilantes are just increasing. He cannot get something like Stark's armor. But he can sure as hell use the serum. And the fact that it gives mental problems to the one injected is more beneficial to him, more beasts to fight you guys." She explained. Damn it, why didn't I think that? It made perfect sense. I also remember Scorpion and Rhino being part of Osborn's experiment. But there is a chance, Fisk will make them who they are.
"Alex it seems our problems are just escalating." Oracle said pulling me out of my thoughts.
"What happened?" I really have a bad feeling about this. If she says it's a problem, then it really is a problem.
"Stryker is interested in the Spiders now, and has started distributing a drug called X-booster. it grants the taker a lesser version of Logan's abilities, without the claws. but it takes a huge toll on their mind and brain when the effect wears off. He is using them to find the Spider's worth"
"Damn it! Of course he did.... Send Stryker's information to Charles under Enigma. He may use Shield help as well. As for Fisk, keep an eye out. For Essex as well, he's a greedy bastard, so he might try something." I said. things were progressing too fast. Was it because of me? Well, yes I pushed Fisk to desperation, and I also used Dark Knights many times to free any metahumans Stryker had caught.
I took a deep breath and calmed down. If that's how it's gonna be, then I will play with them! Holding back while having all these powers at your disposal is pretty frustrating. I will destroy their chances of doing anything. As for Fisk, the Defender's and Spider's need some experience, so it will be fine.
I just smiled planning for the future. This is gonna be a fun game alright!
